Chapter 74
The next morning, we set out on our journey to the Shadow World. Our actual mission in the Shadow world was unknown to Mother and Denise. We've decided to keep them out while we search for Astrid and contact Corner.
"Does the barrier exist here?" Riley asked. I haven't been there in a very long time. I couldn't recall much of anything.
"I'm not sure, Riley," I said, "but I think it's here." I really miss Bookie. If it was still with me, it could have been a huge help."
"Who is Bookie?" Riley and Ava had inquired.
"Just a magic book we used to battle with my father when I was little. Oh, how quickly time flies." I tried to feel something between the trees with my hands. Perhaps the barrier has moved to a new location. I wasn't sure, but if I used my power to search for it, I might not be able to deal with whatever comes my way if Corner is indeed in trouble in the Shadow world.
