"Have you seen Theo this evening?" Ethan asked but Riley knew where Theo was but she mustn't say a word about it or Ethan will take the whole community what Inez and she had done. She was avoiding problems.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Theo? I thought he said we will attack the day of the full moon? This is just the 30th." he said.
Riley nodded. "I remember now. Theo put me in charge of things here."
"Why would he do that? Why not put me? Why you?" he asked. Frowning.
"Why? Because I am a girl?"
"I didn't say that."
"Well, the way you spoke was clear enough. Theo is out of town. He said he had important things to do and he will be back tomorrow."
"But this is important," Ethan said.
Riley rolled her eyes. "That is why he put me in charge Ethan. He said I should lead the battle and I must do it today."
