I stood in front of the door and was about to knock when the door opened. I could see him standing in front of me. I looked up to meet his gaze, and immediately, he took three steps back into his room.

I entered quietly without uttering a word.

Silence took place for about five seconds before I finally spoke up. "I know you hate me now and you still find it unbelievable. I can explain. It's true. I'm not like you."

"What do you want, Inez? If that's even your real name."

"I don't know about that either, but my family calls me that." I chuckled a little and focused again. "Please don't tell anybody about me. The truth is, I'm a dhampir and I have a mission here. To save the human race from the vampire king, Cain. As I've heard, he is cruel and very ambitious and will do anything to get what he wants."

"Okay, I won't tell anybody about you being a monster." He looked away. Trying not to look me in the eyes.
