Just as I suspected, Arden had already smelled her and was already on my bed. Still shocked. "So, you are saying that you are an Elf? And your mission is to protect my sister from monsters?" Arden asked Este as I entered.

"Yes, I am here to serve the chosen one."

Arden laughed at Este. "Can you hear yourself? She is the chosen one... which means, she is meant to protect you, not the other way round."

Este looked at me then focused on Arden. "Are you sure she can protect herself? I heard she hasn't even had her first bite and will be dead in two days and you expect me to believe she can protect herself and the whole world?...what a joke."

"I'm right here guys," I said as I walked to my bed. "And Arden, get out."

"Why don't you want mom to find out?" he asked.

"I ask the same question," Este said as she stood up from the window she was sitting on and jumped down. She walked towards the door and opened it.
