As they entered the village both Ignus and A'Moi were in awe. This was Valenstead, a picturesque settlement nestled in a forested valley south of the capital. The buildings, quaint and charming, constructed from wood and thatch, with some larger structures made from stone like the statue of the founder of the village. The architecture practicality and aesthetic, with curved lines and intricate carvings reflecting the artistic nature of the fox people. The village would be surrounded by lush greenery, with gardens and fields where the villagers grow crops and herbs. Paths would wind through the village, lined with colorful flowers and small shrines dedicated to nature spirits. The villagers seen the trio, and stared at them with a mix of fear and curiosity. Roxy led them to a large wooden house at the edge of the village, where her parents, Chief Valen and Elara, awaited them. The chief was a tall, imposing man with a weathered face and a kind smile. Elara was a gentle-looking woman with a warm demeanor.
"Welcome, travelers," Chief Valen greeted them. "I am Chief Valen, and this is my wife, Elara. Please, come in and make yourselves comfortable."
Inside the house, the smell of cooking food filled the air, and a fire crackled in the hearth. They all sat around a large wooden table, and Elara brought out some bread and cheese for them to snack on.
"Now, Roxy tells me that you've come to help us with our monster problem," Chief Valen said, looking at Ignus and A'moi.
"Yes, that's right," Ignus replied. "We've already dealt with one of the monsters, but we need to know more about the other two."
Roxy explained, "There's a chimera and an undead wyvern. They've been attacking the village for weeks now, always in intervals, never together."
"It's been tough trying to defend against them," Chief Valen said, a hint of frustration in his voice. "We've lost several good men already."
"We understand," A'moi said. "But don't worry, we'll take care of those monsters for you."
After some more discussion and planning, they decided to set out the next day to hunt down the chimera and the undead wyvern. The villagers were grateful for their help, and Chief Valen and Elara insisted that they stay the night.
As they settled in for the night, Ignus couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. These villagers were relying on them to protect them from the monsters, and he was determined not to let them down. Little did he know, this was just the beginning of a much larger adventure.
