=Peggy was spending the night at Jenny's house. She wasn't the only one there. Aida was too. They were expecting one of their other new friends. But that was most unlikely and even so, the night was proving uneventful and boring.
A new guest would not improve it. Peggy welcomed this time. She was supposed to anyway. To get her mind off Trip. Which is more annoying than she thought it would be. Constantly thinking of the boy she likes who can't keep his eyes to himself.
With her friends, she's supposed to be so busy doing everything else to think of him. Like when she was with Sherry and her friends. Or maybe it's the age difference. Fourteen year olds don't have that much going for them. That could be the reason. It seemed unlikely. One thing that is the same with Sherry's friends and hers is the fact that they talk about boys. Instead, she was looking out the window, between a curtain and the window, sitting on the floor thinking about him. The curtain was warm though.
