Chapter five : The reunion
Nolan's Pov
I sighed as the gate was opened. I was back in Icarus Falls. My watch's incessant beeping took me out of my reverie. Haru knew that I was nervous and he held my hand and squeezed it .
" Everything's gonna be fine. I'm not going anywhere, we'll do this together." Haru said and I sighed.
The car was pulled to a stop and we came out. I saw my house and the memories crashed like a wave. I went in and Haru followed.
I recognized Niall immediately. He was holding his crutches. I saw another guy with hair like blood. I would have said red but his hair reminds one of blood. He wore hearing aids. "He's cute." Haru whispered in my hear. "Gross" I replied.
"You're Norman, right?" I asked the guy with the blood like hair. "I prefer Owen." He replied curtly.
"Geez" Haru said as he rolled his eyes. "I saw that." Owen said.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Niall asked. "No", I replied. "He's my friend, Haru, Enami Haruto." I said.
" Haru, this is Niall." I said as I introduced them to each other. "What kind of name is Niall?", Haru asked with a look of curiosity. "All, Alfred?" He asked again. "ば,か!" Owen said. '(It means idiot in Japanese)
" Hey!" , you just called me an idiot. Haru said. "I know." Owen replied. Haru scoffed and sat down on the couch. "Where is grandma?", I asked as I sat down beside Niall. "She isn't here." Niall replied. "No kidding", Owen said.
I thought grandma would be here, I was wrong.
"She wants us to do this ourselves." Niall said. I sighed as I didn't know what to say or what to do. I know they're waiting for me to say something and I'm so fuckin' nervous.
"You speak Japanese?" Haru asked Owen. "He speaks twelve languages." Niall said with pride. "Really?" Haru asked as he was amazed. "Japanese, Italian, German, Portuguese, French, Korean , Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Thai and Russian. Haru laughed as he was so surprised. "How did you manage to learn twelve languages?" Haru asked. " I had a lot of time in the hospital." Owen replied.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." Haru said in a low tone. "pourquoi se comporte-t-il comme une fille." "Hey!, I'm behaving like a girl?, you're the one that's acting like a child." Haru said as he sunk into the couch. Owen stood up and left.
"Did I say something wrong?" Haru asked. "He probably wants to take a nap, don't worry about it." Niall replied.
"How are your legs?" Nolan asked Niall. " They're better. You know it's not gonna go away, right?"Niall asked. "I know." Nolan replied. "What about you?, How are you holding up?" Niall asked. "I'm fine." Nolan replied.
"Where's Isa?" Nolan asked. "I don't know. I didn't ask here where she was going." Niall replied. "Who's Isa?" Haru asked as Nolan had never mentioned her before. "첫사랑(First love)?" Haru asked. "Yeah" Nolan replied. "She's changed. She's not the Isa you used to know." Niall said. Nolan sighed as his monitor beeped.
"Are you okay?" Niall asked. "Yeah" Nolan replied. "Grandma brought you back to fix things, so, man up." Niall said, grabbed his crutches and left.
"He's still here?" Owen asked as he descended from the stairs." "Do you want me to leave?" Haru asked. " I don't mind." Owen replied.
They heard footsteps approaching. Nolan looked back and saw her. The one person he dreaded seeing and was eager to see. "Isa" he called out to her.
"Why are you here?, Isa hollered. "Are you here to finish what you started, my life isn't ruined enough? " Isa... Nolan said but he was interrupted by Isa's wailing. " You ruined my life, you tricked me, you humiliated. "Aren't you satisfied?", She asked as she sniffled.
" I can't take it anymore." Nolan said as he stood up angrily. "Can you just stop it?" Nolan said. "Everyday, every night, I think of you. I understand why you hate me but, hear me out." He said as Isa continued to cry.
"Hey! Yo!" Haru said as Nolan was jolted back to reality. "It was all in my head." Nolan mumbled. "Are you okay?" Haru asked. "I'm fine. Nolan replied.
"Nolan" Isa said as she saw him.
