"It's coming" I screamed at the top of my Lungs as that inhuman creature drew nearer to us, the butler finally turned and noticed it coming at us, he quickly tried more keys until he found the one which could turn the lock but by the time he found it, in this dimly lit room, the creature was so close I could see it's repulsive features much clearer now, eyes as black as charcoal, bloodied teeth tinted red like a person who drank red berry soda, and the most prominent of was was the pale skin with black bulging veins spread across, the sight of such a monstrous creature froze my body, I couldn't move much to begin with but now it was like I was petrified, my heart pumping so loudly I could have sworn anyone around could hear it.
The creature was now only a couple of strides away from getting to us, as it came closer I wondered what was taking so long why had the butler not opened the door after so long and then I realized that what had seemed like forever to me had only been about 2 seconds in reality, finally the butler flung the door open, he threw me onto the lawn and as I landed filled with great pain I realized what he had just done, forgetting myself I turned towards him only to see him get tackled by the creature onto the concrete walkway.
It lunged at him with its head, trying to create a similar wound to the one it had on its neck but he was able to move just in time to avoid what would have been fatal otherwise, this continued multiple times, but it was clear that he couldn't keep this up for long, he was slowly succumbing to the creatures strength, and as it was just about to go for another attack which seemed like it might connect this time , the butler mustering his remaining strength used his leg and launched the creature into the air, thus temporarily saving himself from danger, unfortunately for me, it landed very close to me, and like it wasn't affected by the fall, quickly started approaching while lying down, using its arms to pull itself towards me, why it didn't stand up to attack me was the last thing on my mind , I mustered my strength and for the first time in what seemed like forever I used my hands for strenuous physical activity, I pulled myself backwards trying to get away from it was like a contest of crawlers, scared out of my mind, I couldn't muster the strength to try to get up and run and even if I could I knew my body wouldn't cooperate, as I pushed myself away, the creature kept pulling itself closer to me, this continued briefly until my back hit a tree and I felt a sense of dread and desolation, as I knew I wouldn't be able to escape this creature before it killed me, my body hadn't fully woken up yet.
The creature had began to crawl towards me, growling like a beast who had lost all sense of reason and was driven solely by instincts and hunger, it approached me not so fast that I'd die without even knowing how but just at the right speed for me to be able to see my life flash before my eyes just before I died a gruesome death, and then that's when the realization dawned on me, all these years I was sure that I was tired of living this pathetic life, I was certain I wanted it to end, I'd been wanting to leave this pathetic life and finally be free and now here was my prayer being answered, so why was I afraid, why is my heart pumping like it's full of life, and then in synchronization with my thoughts, the words came out of my lips simultaneously:
"I want to live"
With fear in my my eyes, a shaky breath and with my body trembling in fear of the creature that hovered over me, but more so the fear of actually dying, as the creature moved into to deliver the finishing blow….
Wham!!!
It's head suddenly went flying and it's body laid limp on top of mine, blood splattered all over my face and body. Confused, awestruck but also relieved at the sight of the butler who was breathing heavily had a shovel in his hands which was now stained with blood, the last thing I heard was "You okay kid?"
As I passed out due to exhaustion and fatigue but also due to the relief after such a close brush with death, as I drifted into unconsciousness, I remembered the day the butler had brought me to the family house, Albert he introduced himself to me as he stretched out his hand to shake me, with a warm smile on his face that gave you the impression that he was someone you could rely on, from my memory he was in his early 30's when we first met, so by now he would be in his early 40's but he's still so reliable,
"What the hell is going on?"
"What the hell just happened?"
And why did he come save me, these were the questions on my mind as I drifted away from reality, we were never especially friendly with each other, for the few short conversations we had before I had been imprisoned, one couldn't say we were close to each other, not enough for him to do this.
My mind which for so long had been tormented by not just any humans but humans who shared the same blood as I did, I could no longer comprehend the idea of compassion, sympathy and empathy, humans were just evil and ruthless creatures who did things for their own selfish reasons and for their own disgusting satisfaction.
I felt myself being lifted once again and then everything finally went black.
