Ch 10

After having dinner and watching a live drama between Lucoa's friends Lucoa and I have left the Kobayashi's residents as it was getting late and headed back home but not before promising Kanna that we'll visit her again soon.

Once we left the Kobayashi's residents we walked hand in hand as we enjoyed the start sky.

Looking at the stars and moon I remember something from the manga being that the rabbit on the moon was because of Lucoa's actions.

Thinking of that I looked at Lucoa and discreetly asked her to see if it turns out to be the same in this universe as it was in the manga.

"Hey, Lucoa do you know why there's a rabbit on the moon? You can chop it off to a meteor shower hitting the moon but I heard from some old mages it was a dragon long ago who fought on the moon and made the rabbit by accident during the fight. Do you think that's true?" Shouta

Hearing my question Lucoa looked at the moon and said nothing just smiling at me without saying anything.

Okay, I don't know what to say, it seems like doesn't want to tell me or just wants me to wonder about the truth as it's fun to wonder about stupid stuff sometimes.

After asking the question about the rabbit on the moon I moved on to some other dumb topics to pass the time like if King Arthur was a girl in disguise but she turns out to be a robot all along.

We were having fun in our walk until a phone call came cutting our fun short.

As Lucoa was the one holding my phone she was the one to pick it up.

"Hello, who is this?

...

Oh, it's you Nanahoshi, what's wrong?

...

Oh, that's okay, you'll be fine. You have Spade with you, no need to worry.

...

I said it'll be fine, bye-bye." Lucoa

Hearing the conservation I looked at Lucoa with a questioning gaze.

Lucoa seeing my actions answered me as she put away my phone between her breast.

"Nanahoshi is freaking out about being attacked in the middle of the night because Spade started to tell him stories of the dark side of the supernatural world and now Nanahoshi is being paranoid about a sudden attack coming from nowhere for no reason and doesn't feel safe at home anymore despite having Spade near him to protect him." Lucoa

Hearing Lucoa's word reminded me of the scary stories my new parents told the old Shouta as a way to get an understanding of the dark side of the supernatural world across him.

Think of those memories I started to overlap an old image of the old Shouta balled up under his blanket while hoping no dark mage or creature comes and steals him away but now it's with Nanahoshi in his place.

Thinking about it now the old Shouta shyness wasn't as big as a problem until he started hearing those stories making him go on guard against strangers subconsciously pushing himself away from others and making it harder for him to leave his shell.

Thankfully, Nanahoshi isn't a little shy kid so he won't have the same problem as the old Shouta.

After I finished thinking about pointless stuff I went back to enjoying my walk with Lucoa.

It didn't take us long to reach home and once we entered we went to our room right away to sleep like we usually do.

After a whole night of rest Lucoa once again woke me up with a kiss but it wasn't her usual light good morning kiss but a deep long kiss and by the time she was done kissing me, as I needed to breathe, we had to get ready for school, my mom was also a reason to stop as she started yelling at us telling us that we're running late once again.

As we were getting ready for school I opened Lucoa's relationship status as I believe it has reached 100% by now and I wanted to lock the relationship right away as well as I can't imagine a life without her.

Seeing I was right I locked the relationship right away.

It seems that after locking a relationship the percentage on the relationship disappears as it can no longer go up or down and it also becomes permanent, not being able to change or be removed.

Also along with the locking of the relationship, a second relationship became available in the relationship status as people can be in more than just one type of relationship with a single person.

Seeing the second available relationship status I changed it right away to test something.

I changed Familiar to Wife as I wonder if Wife gives the same perk as Lover did or will it give me something different when it reaches 100%.

After I finished using the Relationship System Lucoa and I are now eating breakfast before we head off to school to meet Nanahoshi.

Once we finished breakfast and reached the school I saw scaffolding and workers where the hole Nanahoshi made is at.

Seeing the hole being fix Lucoa and I moved on to my classroom where I noticed that there few people inside but I didn't care much as this isn't that odd seeing how there's still time for classes to start.

After Lucoa and I entered the classroom Nanahoshi walked up to us from his seat but I noticed that Spade wasn't with him as he walked to us.

Not seeing Spade with him I asked Nanahoshi about it.

"Nanahoshi, where's Spade?" Shouta

Hearing my question Nanahoshi took his school bag off his shoulder and started to look around it as he spoke.

"Spade should be around here somewhere, I put him in here earlier as it felt awkward walking to school with him in the open." Nanahoshi

Hearing his reply it sounded reasonable to me but does it matter I saw him dress in embarrassing cute clothing before during school hours let alone that picture of him on Serafall's fan page so him having a little plushie out in the open shouldn't be that big of a problem right.

As I was thinking about what he said Nanahoshi started to panic after a while of looking through his bag.

After looking through his bag some more Nanahoshi looking at Lucoa and me with a panicked expression before he started to talk in a worried tone of voice.

"Magatsuchi and Mis Magatsuchi, I can't seem to find Spade, he seems to be missing somehow." Nanahoshi

Hearing Nanahoshi words I frowned as Spade is Nanahoshi's familiar so how can Nanahoshi lose him so easily but seeing Nanahoshi's worried face I didn't say anything but looked at Lucoa as she should be able to tell where Spade is at easily.

Lucoa seeing me stare at her just stared back at me with a smile before answering my unasked question about Spade's whereabouts.

"Spade should still be on school grounds. He should be fine and return to you later, he's probably just lost right now." Lucoa

Hearing her words and the nonchalant tone of voice she talked in makes me believe that Spade should be fine and it's most likely that he fell out of Nanahoshi's school bag at some point and if that isn't the case he shouldn't be in real danger or Lucoa would speak up about it.

After Lucoa was done saying what she felt was necessary I looked at Nanahoshi with a frown and started to speak to him like my dad does when I mess something up during my magic lessons.

"Nanahoshi as Lucoa said Spade should be fine but as for you Nanahoshi, we need to talk, you just lost something supernatural in a nonsupernatural area. Did you even read the pamphlet I gave you properly? You should also know that Spade is an ex-member of Magical Deck that's being under investigation at this moment and Magical Deck would send its members to find him to eliminate any possible leakages at this moment. I know you are new to this world but you need to be careful as one miss-step is all that's needed to devastate someone's life let alone take it away from them." Shouta

Once I was done speaking Nanahoshi lowered his head in shame as he remembers what was written in the pamphlet and the stories that Spade just told him the night before.

Seeing him take it hard on himself over something so trivial as Lucoa said Spade should be fine so there shouldn't be any problems I decide not to say anything as this should help his mentality to understand the type of world he just entered.

After a little bit of feeling gloomy Nanahoshi slapped himself on his cheeks to get himself back into the right set of mind and had a resolve look on his face as well.

Now I would have felt proud of him for changing his mindset quite quickly but I know this is just temporary and he will revert to his old mindset as he hasn't lived in or have memories of the supernatural world long enough to comply with change of mindset property.

After we were done talking many of my classmates started to enter the classroom as class is about to start.

Seeing all of them enter at the same time made me wonder where they were to all come at the same time, did my class have to do something this morning that I forgot about?

Well if my class did need to do something this morning it mustn't have been important as I don't remember anything happening today maybe it was our class turn to clean the rest area this morning or something and it's not like I was the only one who forgot about it as there were students in the classroom before me and they didn't say anything about class activities so early in the school day.

As I was thinking about roundabout excuses for forgetting whatever event I forgot classes started as usual with me not paying attention as I didn't want to listen to boring classes at all today.

Now thinking about it how long until the weekend and what should I do for the weekend.

I should probably go visit Kanna, buy Lucoa a phone, and go on a date with her as well.
