Some Talking Slime Wants My Help?

Hours passed, and the glistening sun risen over the mountain horizon, shining upon me, the stone-igloos, and the beautiful grassy ground in front of me.

I was half asleep, guarding all night for the safety of everyone.

I needed rest, my head was nauseous, my eyes were baggy, and my eyelids felt like anvils.

I didn't even bother to nap.

But that's what happens when you're the leader, right? Well... not exactly leader, but rather the strongest one here.

Olivia still accounted herself as the leader with her prideful attitude, and I wasn't gonna say otherwise. I'm not trying to get a kick in the face, no thanks.

Once the sun risen over the horizon, I could hear animals running through the large grassy fields. They created sounds you would never hear in any modern environment.

I'll put it this way in simpler terms; the sounds they created would be scary for any other person back in my world, as they'll make theories about it being some Bigfoot, Ghost, or Mothman.

I found it hilarious, because I know it's true. My world had no supernatural creatures such as this world, and if we ever found one where I use to live, it'll start some worldwide crisis probably.

This is my second day being away from Mediocre village, and I have so much I wanna tell my siblings about in my previous world, but I know that's impossible.

Oh well, I get to enjoy it all by myself.

The bright blue sky, the friends I made here, and the gorgeous creatures roaming around, unafraid of human life.

One of those creatures walked up to me, you wouldn't believe what they were...

It was hopping up and down, bouncing with its gelatin-like body, as it stopped in front of me.

["A slime?"]

Yeah, that's right! A slime! It was a blue slime with two large black eyes! It was at least the size of an entire basketball.

["Hey little guy, is there something you want?"]

I sat criss-cross on the ground, patting its head.

["Can you help me?"]

Wait... was I hearing things?

["Huh?"]

I turned around, facing the stone-igloos for that voice I just heard... but I couldn't find anyone.

["That's weird, I could've sworn someone just talked to me... and it sounded really close by."]

["HELP ME!"]

There it is again... what's going on?

I stood up from my spot and looked left, right, front, behind, but I couldn't see anyone.

["Hey, where are you!?"] I cupped my hands over my mouth, shouting for their location.

["I'm down here you idiot!! Down here, down here, down here!"]

No... it couldn't be... were my ears deceiving me?

A... talking slime?

["..."] I slowly looked down at the slime below me while they stared up at me with two frowning eyes.

This day couldn't get any weirder.

You may be wondering why I'm so surprised at this? Well... it's simple! Slimes are meant to be creatures with an IQ of 5, they only eat plants and other smaller animals, digesting them with some acidic acid in their bodies, before spitting them back out once their bodies are fully broken down.

After they poop- or well... "spit" back out their food, it has a coating of saliva that ends up helping the environment.

I learned this from reading dozens of my moms books'.

Here's a little lesson on slimes; their saliva has helpful nutrients that can benefit plant-life, and animal-life, and in return that benefits other races as well. It's a natural cycle.

We need plants so animals can eat them, and we need animals so we can eat them. If plants were to die, then so would the animals die, and that'll effect everyone else in the world too, because no food.

Slimes are the main source for all of our resources, and food.

If slimes were to die, you may as well dig your grave.

But there hasn't been one instance in history where a slime can talk... SO HOW IS THIS ONE TALKING TO ME?

["I need you to help my family! We're in danger, sludge forest is in danger!"]

It constantly bounced up and down, trying to snap me out of my shocked phase.

["Sludge... forest?"] I asked it, still bewildered at the fact it was talking to me.

["Yes, the forest where we slimes live! It's in danger, please, you have to help us! Save us from the dragon!"]

DRAGON? SAVE THEM FROM A DRAGON?

["Wait, wait wait wait! Dragon? You think I have the power to take on a literal DRAGON? There's no way in hell! I'm just some kid!"]

The slime stopped bouncing and questioned me;

["Kid? You talk like a grownup though... are you sure?"]

Is this gonna be some running gag where everyone says I talk like a grownup?

["...I don't think I can help you, I'm sorry."]

I felt bad, but what could I do? I'm no match for some dragon, I'm not some warlock.

["Please, help us! Without us slimes, don't you people die? I don't understand!"]

I sighed.

["Yes... that is true... without slimes, we all can perish, but I have nothing in my arsenal that can take on a dragon. I'm not a warlock, you know?"]

If you're wondering what a warlock is, then I can tell you.

A Warlock is someone who mastered all magic and worldviews. They can use ice, fire, air, earth, and water magic whenever they want too. Becoming a warlock is possible for everyone, however doing so requires intensive training of the soul, mind, and body; You must train your emotions/mind and utilize them at any given time to use certain elements of magic. You must train your body in order to resist the effects of different magic types, so you can learn how to counter other magic types more efficiently. You must train your soul to become more durable in order to use different magic types, as it takes a toll on the spiritual body from switching other elements of magic repeatedly.

Sure, it may be true that I can learn water magic, and earth magic over my ice magic, but it's still not enough.

Why, you may ask?

Well, Warlocks not only mastered all magic, but from their intensive training they acquired something known as 'Power Refusal', which allows them to jam the spiritual body's mana supply, and prevent others from using magic.

Mana is essentially the "fuel" that's needed to perform magic. It exists within all things, from trees, plants, animals and etc. It's a common concept within the world, and it keeps the world functioning as well.

Now that you have all of that in mind, I'll conclude it;

Warlocks are people who mastered all magic from intense training, and from their intense training they can also jam mana supply, which is a fuel that lets someone perform magic. Simple enough, right?

If I was a warlock, I could probably jam the mana supply of dragons to stop them from casting magic, but I wasn't.

This slime had too much faith in me. There is no way in hell I'm capable of taking on a dragon, even with the dark magic I obtained, which is also something I won't use for obvious reasons.

Also, I'm sure that this sludge forest is a place that exists across the world, and it's only one being burned down, so it's no reason to worry, right?

We have plenty of other sludge forests providing us with slimes!

["Please, there's only one sludge forest, without it... everything goes to hell!"]

CAN HE READ MY MIND OR SOMETHING? HOW DID HE KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING?

Damnit, now he started to make me feel worse about myself.

I'm sitting here letting the entire slime race possibly die, while I have a chance to help them.

Shit... looks like I have no choice.

I was nervous, I'm not gonna lie.

But for the sake of the world, I'll do it.

["Alright... enough shouting, you'll wake up everyone who's asleep. Can you take me to where Sludge Forest is?"]

The slime seemed joyous that I agreed to help, as it's eyes widened.

["Yes! I can take you there, but first you must hold onto me!"]

["Huh? Why?"]

["Because, I have to perform teleportation! Sludge Forest is located under earth, where we slimes and other minor races live!"]

My eyebrows lifted. I was astounded, I didn't know there was an entire civilization underground.

Hopefully I can return back before everyone wakes up.

This shouldn't be too hard, right?

I kneeled down, placing my hand on the slimes head, watching it glow in crystal-blue colors.

["Alright, hold on tightly! When we teleport, our bodies deconstruct into molecules, and we're ripped apart one by one then meshed together with the existing molecular structures present. After that we are vacuumed, and sucked up at the speed of light."]

["Huh? Why are you telling me this?"]

["Because... we slimes can't feel pain, but for humans, you guys will feel a lot of pain when this happens!"]

["Wait, m-maybe this isn't a good idea actually-"]

["HERE WE GO!"]

["Wait, hold on! Hold on!!!"]

And then we vanished.
