Chapter 5: A genuine smile

Wei Xiaohui looks bewildered, wondering where Liu Zemin was going to bring her. But more than that, she was surprised to see Liu Zemin was driving such an expensive sports car. Even Zhou Liqin couldn't afford a car like that.

The two get into the front seat, and Liu Zemin drives to the nearest mall. Wei Xiaohui looks at him, wondering why they came to the mall.

"We need to get you new things, don't we?" Liu Zemin realized Wei Xiaohui would need new clothes and other sorts of things to be living.

Wei Xiaohui quickly waves her hands around, "You don't need to help me with these things." She didn't have much in the beginning at her old apartment. So she didn't need much.

Wei Xiaohui also felt guilty. Liu Zemin had already helped her enough.

"It's fine. You don't need to hold back." Liu Zemin didn't care as he brought Wei Xiaohui into different shops. Wei Xiaohui puts up a smile as she goes in with him.

"You didn't have to buy me so many things." Wei Xiaohui didn't know what to do. They have been in the mall for so long that it was nighttime.

"You're wrong there. You gotta have enough equipment before you fight a big boss." Every time the two went into a store, Liu Zemin would come out with at least one item.

"But you didn't have to pay for everything." When she tried to pay for the things, Liu Zemin would be one step ahead of her and pay for them.

After receiving so much money from Zhou Liqin, paying for all the items would be easy. Well, she thought wrong.

She had glanced over at one of the lipsticks Liu Zemin had bought, and she paled at how much it cost. It cost around a third of what Zhou Liqin gave her! What's more, Liu Zemin bought 8 of them!

If lipstick had cost that much, then she's afraid to know how much the clothes cost.

"It's fine. I didn't spend so much money." Wei Xiaohui wanted to slap him for that. How could he say that without an ounce of regret?

Not knowing what Wei Xiaohui was thinking, Liu Zemin told her, "There's one more place I want to bring you to."

"Is it somewhere expensive?" If it was, Wie Xiaohui was ready to leave.

Liu Zemin shakes his head, "Don't worry, we won't be buying anything." With that being said, Wei Xiaohui followed him.

"Where are we going?" Not even half an hour in, Wei Xiaohui questioned Liu Zemin. Just looking out the window, they were going up a mountain. But it looks really sketchy.

"Don't worry about it. The place we're going to is something special. Trust me." Wei Xiaohui didn't say anything else. But she did lock the windows just in case.

After driving for a few more minutes, the two had stopped in a parking lot. When the two of them got out, Wei Xiaohui quickly grabbed onto the nearest living thing, Liu Zemin.

She looked like a koala gripping onto a tree.

Liu Zemin chuckles, "Don't be afraid. I've been up here a lot of times." Wei Xiaohui couldn't see it, but Liu Zemin's expression was turning wry. Her nails were digging right into his body.

Despite him saying this, it didn't help diminish Wei Xiaohui's worry. The only option Liu Zemin had was to bear with it and bring her to the place.

When the two arrived, Liu Zemin shouts,

"Tada! Open your eyes." When Wei Xiaohui opened them, she went silent. She had no words for what she's seeing. It was a top view of the city.

The bright lights coming off the building looked like little stars that had fallen to the ground, illuminating the dark sky.

Never before did she see such beautiful scenery.

"I found this place a few weeks ago. Nobody comes here as well, so this is the best place for relaxing." The place became Liu Zemin's safe spot. Here, he could just relax and chill out.

"This is so beautiful." Wei Xiaohui couldn't believe such a place existed. Her eyes glittered like stars as she gazed at the scenery.

"This is the first time you genuinely smiled all day." Liu Zemin gently smiles as he says this.

"...What do you mean?" Wei Xiaohui's expression changes.

"Don't lie. I know you had something on your mind the whole entire time."

The moment Wei Xiaohui came out of the building, Liu Zemin knew something was wrong. That's why Liu Zemin brought her around the mall so she could get her mind off of everything that happened.

"..." Wei Xiaohui continues to be silent.

"I won't ask you to tell me about it. But if you keep it bottled inside you, it'll eventually explode out in the worst way possible." Liu Zemin had a grim expression as he said this.

"...Is it really fine?"
