Chapter-8

After walking for hours non-stop Roland was dead tired. Therefore, he decided to take some rest near a clearing beside a shallow stream.

He fed his Pokemon, ate lunch himself and took some rest as well. Roland wanted to enjoy his journey, hence he slowed down his pace of travel.

For the next two days or so he repeated this same routine and at the morning of the third day reached the Cerulean city.

"I can finally sleep on a bed." Said Roland. He started to miss the soft feeling of a bed after spending three days straight on camping. He can store a bed in his inventory, but he deliberately decided against it.

Roland wanted to experience the life of a traveller. If he took a bed, fridge and things like that with him then what would be the difference?

After entering the city without a hitch Roland directly headed toward the Pokemon center. He handed all his Pokemon to nurse Joy and told her to take care of them until he returned.

After that, he rented a room and slept like a log for five hours straight. When he woke up it was already noon. Roland took a bath and ate his lunch at a restaurant before going to the Pokemon center and took back his Pokemon.

He wasn't planning on challenging the gym immediately. First he wanted to take a look at their water show. After all, the three Williams sisters are more popular for their beauty and performance rather than as gym leaders.

They are known as the 'Sensational Sisters' for nothing.

He retrieved his Pokemon from nurse Joy and visited the mall. There he re-stocked his empty poke-food reserves and bought some poke-candy as a quick snack for his Pokemon.

Afterward, he went toward the gym. Fortunately, the sisters were doing a show today.

He got into the line and bought a ticket. It was an awful experience to say the least, even though Roland had waited in many lines in his previous life. He still hated the process, where some people would keep pushing you from left to right or forward.

As he got inside the gym and took his seat at the top right corner. He saw three gorgeous women standing on a platform above the pool.

He instantly realized who they are. The sensational sisters: Daisy, Violet, and Lily. He couldn't see Misty though. Well he didn't really care, presently she was just an immature kid, he wasn't a pedo.

Moving back to the sisters, they were with their respective Pokemon– Luvdisc, Goldeen, Seaking, and a little Seel.

"Their Pokemon aren't very strong but it'd be tricky to deal with them underwater. Ivysaur would face a problem and Charmander is out of the question." Concluded Roland.

"Looks like I need to postpone my challenge and search for new Pokemon or wait till Magikarp evolves."

A Gyarados can easily deal with them all. Magikarp was Roland's best bet. Since, finding a good Pokemon then training it to a decent level would be too time consuming. It would be better for Roland to challenge another low rank gym instead.

Roland actually wanted to challenge Cerulean city gym at a later date. However, it was too close to Viridian city for him to just walk around it.

In the middle of the show Roland was able to find Misty sitting at a corner. She too was watching the show. He had to admit she was extremely cute. But, that's all. He soon switched his attention to the beautiful ladies.

The next morning Roland left the Cerulean city and headed toward the nearby forest. He performed his daily training and trained his Pokemon until they were tired.

After giving them a short break, Roland ordered them to fight with wild Pokemon whenever they encountered one.

He mainly prioritised Charmander, since he was already level 15. Once he reaches level 16, Charmander should be able to become Charmeleon. Though Roland doubted Charmander could evolve just because he reached the necessary level. This was a real world not a game where Pokemon can evolve simply because they reached the required level.

Charmander would need to go through intense stimulation and break his limit. Only then can he evolve into the next stage.

"System, show their status."

Moves: Splash]

"Good, Magikarp is ready to evolve. But, how should I proceed?" He sighed with no answer.

In the anime Magikarp went into rage before finally becoming a Gyarados.

But, how should he make Magikarp angry. Magikarp is a chill and easy going guy. He rarely showed any concern to whatever was happening.

Moreover, he can't just ask Ivysaur to beat him up. Gyaradoses are famous for their explosive temper. What if he went berserk and attacked Ivysaur?

He can't take that risk.

Roland stared at the peaceful golden Pokemon relaxing in water with a thoughtful look. In this two weeks or so Magikarp has grown splendidly in size. Now, he looks like an adult Sun fish.

Roland was sure when he evolved into a Gyarados. He would be many thanks bigger than normal. He would be a Behemoth.

Unbeknownst to Roland, in the distance a Meowth shape hot air balloon was coming closer toward them. In the balloon stood three individuals, one Meowth and two humans. The humans wore grey costumes with a red 'R' written on the front.

Yes, they were none other than Team Rocket!

However, everyone of them was in a pretty ragged appearance.

"Ahh~~ I'm so hungry and beat up. Even the clouds look like food." James whined clutching his stomach.

"Shut up you idiot! Don't talk about food, you'll make me more hungry!" Jessie glared sharply at James. They haven't had anything to eat for three long days. This hunger was driving them mad.

"You guys ate at least three days ago. I on the other hand haven't eaten a bite for a whole week! You shit-heads gobbled up my share!" Meowth growled at his partners. He wondered what kind of delicacy that sly Persian was tasting day and night, relaxing on the boss's lap.

The three of the sighed together lowering their heads. Suddenly, they heard a banging noise. James got up and searched using his binoculars for the origin of that sound. He quickly caught sight of a Charmander and an unusually bigger Ivysaur fight with a pack of Rattata.

(Sorry for the late update. It's been really hectic these day IRL for me. Also, to does who are wondering when the DxD fic will be updated.
