Gavin looks like one of those hot CEOs from the sexy, romance novels she reads to indulge herself with dopamine. His reality is, however, completely different. Cece walked home.
It took her more than thirty minutes. At one point, her feet started burning; however, she was too lost to notice that. She did not even notice the empty cabs that passed her, and the bus stop where she could get the bus number 15, and reach her home in just ten minutes. Her mind was frazzled to function properly.
"Why did they write her?" The fact that she was not feeling anything, made Cece realise that she was still in shock. They were talking about her mother, the person who taught everyone everything, from how to dress up and put on her hair, to how to write. The same person who was a member of a secret society, who guarded a secret so powerful that it could change the world.
And she had betrayed her people when she created her.
