"That's a bold accusation, little fox," Evan remarked with a slight smile.
"Then how did you know I was drenched in rain yesterday?" Allie's eyes narrowed, finding him suspicious. With all his money, it would be easy for him to ask someone to watch her. But the thought of someone stalking her wasn't nice to think about.
He shrugged innocently. "People have eyes and ears. You are not the only person in your building. Let's just say a friend of mine saw you. Why were you walking in the rain, anyway? Did your car break down? You should have called your darling husband. Maybe I could have helped you."
"I don't think you have friends in my building." Her eyes narrowed. The building where her penthouse was wasn't among the high-end condo towers. "My car didn't break down. I just didn't have an umbrella when I got out of the car."
