I Ruined Mr. Tyrant's Wedding

Allison Gray is Miss Wrecker. She gets paid for ruining relationships. But she has one rule to this job: Never ruin a good relationship. So when she was offered a job to ruin Evan Mori's wedding, she took it and didn't hesitate. After all, it was only a marriage for business and the bride has a hidden lover. She portrayed her role perfectly and ruined the wedding day, but there's one big complication: Evan Mori turns out to be her new boss and the tyrant demands for compensation she can't afford: her hand in marriage. - "What exactly do you want from me, Mr. Mori?" "I told you, I want a bride. You took my bride, you bring me another one." She snickered. "You want me to become a matchmaker?" "No, sweetheart," he stood from his seat and leaned forward. Both his hands were flat on the table as he crouched and peered down at Allie's piercing eyes. Evan stared at her green eyes darkly. They were so alive like a lovely summer forest, yet at the same time they were unnervingly cold and fearless. He didn't like her defiance. "You will take her place. You will be my bride."

Go straight to business

Allie couldn't sleep. She kept checking her phone only to see no response from Evan.

After what Evan had told her in the message, she texted back, asking why he liked neither of the women. But he never replied. Now it had been three hours, and she was still waiting!

Chloe had slept beside her, but Allie was looking up at the ceiling, holding her phone to her stomach. She was frustrated and curious. Why wasn't Evan willing to give it a try? Why did he need to be so picky?

Her hands were itching to call Evan because she needed an explanation, but she didn't do it.

Allie woke up feeling restless the next morning. She checked her phone, and there was still no reply from Evan.

She sighed and got out of bed to take a bath. It seemed like she had no choice but to maximize the three days left for her to find Evan Mori a bride.

But first, he had to give her a valid explanation for why he didn't consider either of the women she suggested!

Because if what she was thinking was right, that he was just toying with her, then it meant he was dishonoring their deal. She couldn't allow that.

"Call Mr. Mori's secretary and ask for an appointment with him today. It doesn't matter if he has only ten or fifteen minutes. I need to talk to him today," Allie told Cole over the phone while she was having breakfast.

Chloe had left early, so she had breakfast alone. She wasn't fond of cooking but she could make nice pancakes, enough to fill her stomach before work.

Allie met Cole in Code Vision's office, expecting that Mr. Mori's secretary had responded to him, only to be disappointed.

"If he didn't like those two women you picked, then I will find more prospects, boss! I'm sure there are still young ladies from rich families we haven't considered!"

Cole tried to be optimistic, but Allie couldn't manage to be at that moment. She sat in her office chair, only the two of them in her office, her fountain pen swirling between her fingers.

"This is getting out of hand," she muttered under her breath, which didn't reach Cole's ears.

"Did you say something, boss?"

"Go back to work and tell me once his secretary replies to you."

"Copy, boss!"

Allie went back to her computer. But the entire morning, she couldn't concentrate. Code Vision's success and Redlip's privacy were at stake in her deal with Evan. If she couldn't satisfy him, he would surely go to great lengths just to bring her down. The thought infuriated her even more.

Allie lost track of time. She was staring at her computer absentmindedly when she heard a knock on the door. It was Heidi, her co-worker and former classmate.

"Aren't you having lunch?

Heidi and other employees of Code Vision often invited Allie to lunch. Sometimes she joined them, sometimes she didn't. She was fine with ordering food and eating in her office, working even during lunchtime.

It was one of those days she would rather stay in her office.

"Thanks, but I have asked Cole to order food for me."

Heidi smiled and nodded. "Enjoy your meal, then."

While eating her lunch alone, Allie continued her work.

She was beginning to get occupied with work when her phone suddenly rang.

Mr. Mori.

She was surprised to see his name as the caller. She had been meaning to talk to him, so she picked it up right away.

"Where are you?" came his quick question.

"Code Vision."

"Let's meet."

Allie was relieved that he wanted to meet her. They had a lot to talk about.

If she hadn't received any response from him within the day, she would have gone to his company to meet him at his office.

"I'm here in the café next to your building. Meet me here in fifteen."

Allie was out of her company's building in no time. She walked inside the café, and a male attendant led her to the private table where Evan was.

Evan, dressed in his usual corporate attire, was sitting calmly on his chair while sipping coffee. His eyes subtly watched Allie as she sat across from him. Compared to the lady he met at the party last night, the woman in front of him wasn't as glitzy.

But it didn't mean she was less beautiful. In fact, Evan preferred this look of Allie. Her jet-black hair was flowing down her back, and her green eyes were striking against her pale face. With their proximity, the thick glasses she wore didn't lessen the beauty of her eyes in any way.

"You seem to be in a bad mood. Did you have your lunch?"

"Let's go straight to business, Mr. Mori," Allie's tone was formal, but it carried a hint of annoyance that didn't go unnoticed.
