Chp 7 Identity.

I returned home after buying everything I needed for now, and went to the bathroom to wash myself up, even though wearing these set of clothes didn't exactly need me to wash myself up but it wouldn't hurt to keep my good habits with me, thinking so I went to the bathroom and got another shock there,

What I saw in the mirror was totally out of my expectations, I mean you can't blame me for being so shocked every now and then, I really did wish for such things to happen but experiencing it first hand in reality is completely different,

I mean it was just yesterday when my looks were so bad that I wouldn't even want to look at my own reflection and now the face I am seeing right now is completely different, no calling it different would be like putting shame on it,

The looks I had write now would be comparable to the manhwa main characters I read about I mean my face which was full of acne before is now smooth and clean, The thinning-hair in my head before also became thick and smooth. The squared-jaws has become sharp and small, and my thin lips before have become plump. The nose which looked like a pig before has turned straight now.

I touched my face again which is completely different from the face I saw just yesterday, I touched it to assure myself honestly, Yes, it's my face now.

I know, I might sound weird right now but you can't blame me for that, The whole reason I chose to reincarnate as Yuuya without knowing anything about him or the story was because this was the safer worlds and it was an Harem story, and in case if I had reincarnated into someone else I didn't want to get NTR'd in future by the protagonist because of his unbelievable luck, it would be better If I became the one instead than I would be the one having all the beautiful girls in the story, it may sound terrible but just imagine living in a world where you know you aren't the protagonist of the story but just a side character or possibly a mob character and there is a protagonist out there with his 'Plot Armor' or 'Protagonist Halo' which makes all the girls fall head over heels for him, I would have had severe trust issues in any relationship if I had to think about it everytime,

Well that was one of the reasons but not the only reason but anyway now that I have transformed with such an incredible face and physique I don't need to hide myself in the corner, I honestly should have honestly checked myself before in the morning I mean how and why exactly did I miss that when the secret room is directly connected to bathroom,

'Whatever, that's all in the past anyway' I thought while completing my inner monologue and freshening up,

Anyway, while going through the market I picked some books on Martial Arts and other training Books I found in a nearby Book store available there after appraising them, It might not be much useful but with the [Status] window and my [Title] previlages it would be easy to learn new things quickly, also because I didn't know how to use the weapons properly, but first I should maybe learn something to keep my mind calm,

It's mostly thanks to my [High Stats] and other [Passive Skills], that I was able to contain them, but I can't depend on them completely I have to train my [Skills] and [Abilities] myself and master their control without depending on the [Status], I mean I don't even know how the [Level Up] system works exactly, as after alloting them I have felt no changes in my body since then, I can check on that later on but right now what I should be focused on should be 'My Identity'.

I was still feeling a little complicated about the word 'Identity'

I mean it was just yesterday that I got reincarnated and without any proper knowledge at that (should've wished for it), but because of my stupidity or 'stupid luck' I transformed overnight and now I suddenly look this, completely 'Unrecognisable' from 'Yesterday', and now I have more work to do because of it,

[A/N : Don't go too much in depth into the paras below just skim through it if you want, I just wanted to display a sense of identity crisis the MC going through internally in a different body and accepting his new life properly but stretched it unknowingly with all the unnecessary philosophy and spiritual talk]

Well If I am being honest I am happy I get to experience all of this, I can bet this is something anyone would have wished for to experience and ask for themselves If they had the option to, some might even curse and comment on my behaviour and personality like I did on Yuuya before but as I said Yuuya is Yuuya and I am Me, I may not remember my Old Name or Life properly in 'detail' but I still have the 'personality' and 'experiences' from my past and I don't want to be tied down to them,

That was the 'Old' me, the 'Past' me and what I am now, in the 'Present' isn't the same person as I was in the 'Past' I have learned and improved myself from my 'Past' experience and I cherish those experiences because of it, no matter how bad they may be and I will continue do so in the future no matter as the 'Orphan' I was in my past life or as the disowned and abandoned by the world 'Yuuya' that I am now,

I took a deep breath thinking that,

'Who I am now doesn't depend on my appearance or physical changes it depends on 'me', I am 'Yuuya' now but a 'better' version of him, because I have also seen everything he has gone through and I will continue to better myself so that those events don't repeat again and I don't make the mistakes he made and I will continue to do by improving myself and learning from them, I will make a better no best version of myself, I think that is what 'Character Development' means I guess',

I fell silent at the moment after thinking that, It was like a heavy weight had been lifted from my chest suddenly,

I mean I had noticed that I was referring myself and Yuuya differently even though I have reincarnated as him and seen everything he experienced and have to live as him in the future too, guess that was why I was drawing a line subconsciously between myself and him, but I have come to accept it now I am Yuuya now a little different from how I was in the past but it's not like all of this also permanent,

I finished my thoughts finally after steeling my resolve and finishing my internal monologue when suddenly,

Well, that was unexpected but incredible at the same time but leaving that aside, first thing I need to do is updating my personal documents and paperwork and second is to learn and acquire new skills and adjust and explore the 'Otherworld' and also research the new things I don't know about this 'Earth',

After I finished sorting out my plans I left the bathroom and went to the 'Otherworld' house, I don't know if it was because of the forest around it or if it was because of the 'Mana' in this world, but I would always feel refreshed staying here,

I should probably do something about the [Empathy] skill I guess, after it's sudden 'Level Up' it was easier for me to control it now but it also enhanced the information output I recieved because of it,

I should probably try mediation,

I decided and sat down in the garden area for meditation and I was getting distracted at first but after a few tries and practice I finally got in deep meditation state,

I started to calm my mind and feel the energy I felt while using Empathy and tried to control it's output it was difficult but after repeated trials and a few hours of Hardwork I finally contained it, and soon I got another notification,

[You have acquired the skill [Meditation: 2]

Surprisingly, the [Empathy] skill leveled up twice and I acquired a new skill in the process which leveled up too, I really gotta thank all the 'titles' I have for it,

I don't know how, but it was already dusk now,

'I came back here a few hours before noon and it's already dusk, good thing I ate breakfast before in the morning'

I got up deciding to go back to the house and do some regular training from the books,

But as soon as I got up I felt a sudden chill coming from the outside,

I looked around calmly as I knew it was safe as long as I was inside the fence and then I looked towards the entrance,

At the entrance, which was the boundary between the outside of the fence and the garden, I saw the culprit of the chill assaulting me. A creature with the overwhelming aura of a warrior stood there staring at me. Its body was massive, in excess of two meters in height, and its skin was dark red, as if smeared with blood. Its bulging biceps were as thick as my torso, and its face resembled an oni, a fictional existence, with the two splendid and sharp fangs growing from its lower jaw.

I looked at the huge beast at the entrance and used [Appraisal] at it quickly,

[Appraisal].

As soon I read the [Appraisal] my heart started panicking, I was confused at first but after looking at its name 'Bloody Ogre' I remembered, it was because of Yuuya's trauma, or more like Yuuya's bully 'Araki'; he belonged to a group with a similar name, [Red Ogre],

After finally calming my heart again, I looked at the appraisal results again when suddenly.

I was reading the details of its stats then suddenly the monster roared getting impatient and started running towards the entrance but then, the ogre grunted as it stopped short, it was blocked by the invisible wall and It couldn't enter the yard.

The ogre started banging his fist against the invisible wall at tremendous speed, in an effort to enter the yard. Its thunderous roar echoed through the surroundings.

The ogre seeing it couldn't do anything to this house, the Bloody Ogre stopped attacking and reached for a nearby tree. After easily uprooting it, the monster threw it towards the house.

I was shocked at the monsters Intelligence but also wondered if living creatures can't enter, does that apply to other things!? I was surprised by the Bloody Ogre's assault, but the defensive performance of this house lived upto my expectations, and even the tree it threw bounced off.

Both direct and indirect attacks are blocked. But it still didn't give up and resumed its attacks.

'I should probably end it now'

I took out the [Absolute Spear] from [Item Box].

"Alright."

I held the spear in my hand aimed it towards the Ogre and threw it towards it's direction, a bit more properly than the last time.

The Bloody Ogre seemed to go on alert, possibly due to sensing the intimidating air released from [Absolute Spear]. The monster understood what was happening instantly and put up its guard.

However, the spear still reached the Bloody Ogre in an instant, and pierced through its entire body without slowing down. Groaning its last breath, the Bloody Ogre fell down with a big hole in its chest, eyes still wide open, as if unable to comprehend what just happened.

Soon, The Bloody Ogre's body dissolved into particles of light, and disappeared on the spot.

Then as I expected a notification sound came again,

I called out as soon as I saw the notification window,

'It's more than before, I mean the monster too was stronger than the one before so it makes sense I guess,'

I decided to allocate the BP later and focused on the drops received from the [Bloody Ogre],

The items I found were a magic stone, and a splendid fang, similar to that which grew from the Bloody Ogre's mouth. There was also a dark red, sinister-looking armor set.

"Let's just take them inside first,"

Thanks to it dying near the gate again, I was able to collect them quickly. There weren't even that many items, but they looked intimidating,

I collected the items and got inside the fence and used [Appraisal] on them,

[Bloody War Demon's Great Fang] :: Fangs of the Bloody Ogre. Its fangs are not particularly massive, but when combined with the Bloody Ogre's bite force, it could easily penetrate the skin of any prey. If processed, it could be made into a sturdy and sharp weapon.

[Magic Stone: Rank B] :: A special ore that can be obtained from magical beasts. The ranks are, in ascending order: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, L and EX. The higher the rank, the more expensive a stone will be.

[Bloody War Demon's Body Armor] :: A drop from Bloody Ogres, made from their strong skin and muscle fibers. This armor can't be scratched by typical attacks. The wearer's attack power is modified.

[Bloody War Demon's Gauntlet] :: A drop from Bloody Ogres, made from their strong skin and muscle fibers. This gauntlet can't be scratched by typical attacks. The wearer's attack power is modified.

[Bloody War Demon's Waist Armor] :: A drop from Bloody Ogres, made from their strong skin and muscle fibers. This gauntlet can't be scratched by typical attacks. The wearer's agility is modified.

[Bloody War Demon's Leg Armor] :: A drop from Bloody Ogres, made from their strong skin and muscle fibers. This leg armor can't be scratched by typical attacks. The wearer's agility is modified.

Everything else aside, I was happy about getting an Armor set and it's current size fits me perfectly too.

That said, the body armor was somewhat shaped like the Bloody Ogre's abdominal muscles, and overall, the gauntlet was somewhat thorny. The waist armor looked just as sharp as the body armor and the gauntlet, and the red cloak was attached. Even the leg armor was very cool, with the feeling that its design was adjusted to match the wearer's legs.

After I finished everything I saw it was already getting dark and put everything in the [Item Box] and got inside the house again after picking a few 'Veggies' from the garden farm for cooking,

[A/N: I am just going to call them Veggies from now on]

I got inside and before crossing the door saw a familiar message once again,

Now not as confused as last time, I removed the pieces of armor from the candidates because I will wear them infuture, and used [Money Conversion] on the rest.

[Blood War Demon's Great Fang] cashed in for 500,000 Yen. [Magic stone: Rank B] cashed in for 1,000,000 Yen.

Soon after, Bundles of ¥10,000 cash fell infront of me on the floor once again, I picked them up and kept it in the [Item Box] while noting about opening a bank account after my documents are updated,

I returned to 'Earth' once again went to the kitchen and cooked Dinner for myself,

The menu this time was "Super Power Tomato salad", "Invincible Pumpkin and Winter Radish of Wisdom boiled in soy sauce", and "Meat and Godspeed Potato stew". All these dishes were made with Holy Water from the [Infinite Watering Can].

"D-delicious!"

It was surprisingly delicious. My cooking skills were average, but after getting the the cooking skill they surprisingly improved and the taste too and also the quality of the ingredients themselves was amazing too.

After finishing the meal, I checked my status, and there were various changes.

My stat values had risen by 500 again, But I didn't feel any major difference right away except for the increase in numbers, I wonder how the [Level Up] system works,

The only reason I haven't yet alloted my BP points because I wanted to be sure how exactly the BP points work and it wasn't as if the points will get stolen anyway,

Thinking so, I remembered about the Training Books I bought in the afternoon, these books were all about those scattered weapons and schools, and weren't consolidated, but somehow my instinct seems to whisper me to choose them. Was that the influence of the [True Martial Arts] skill? I wasn't sure, so I bought them without thinking too much about it before,

I immediately read one of the books and before I knew it, I got a new skill called [Speed Reading], and read the whole rest of the book.

However, it was already late at night, and the actual battle would be starting from tomorrow. So, after taking a bath, I prepared a futon and went to sleep.

── And then late after midnight, I experienced that familiar terrible pain once again, and blacked out.
