Chapter 43: The Gate of Eternity

The light from the gateway enveloped us entirely, blinding yet strangely gentle. For a moment, I felt weightless, as though the constraints of gravity and time no longer held sway. Then, with a sudden pull, the world reassembled itself around us, and we stood in a space unlike anything I had ever seen. 

The Core of the Forgotten Realms wasn't just a place; it was an expanse of existence torn between creation and destruction. The ground beneath us shimmered like liquid silver, shifting and rippling with every step. Above, the sky was an infinite tapestry of stars, each one pulsing in time with an unseen rhythm. 

But what dominated the space was the Gate of Eternity. It towered above us, impossibly massive, its surface carved with runes that glowed faintly with an ethereal light. Each rune seemed alive, moving and shifting as if they were trying to communicate.
