Rejecting the Goddess

Thinking about how to avoid that marriage situation, Bing Meifeng could only find one solution and even that would not necessarily work. That would be to find a pretend boyfriend, as she knew that it would shame Long Qingquan if word passed around that the person he was about to marry was already in a committed relationship. However that in itself proved a problem because she had no idea who to ask as she was not close to any male students.

'Who should I ask?' she thought to herself. Thinking back she realised that she had just angrily yelled at Tie Zhu, however before that she noticed that he was gazing at her direction for some time. 'Since he showed interest in me he most likely wont refuse my request right? I also know his financial situation isn't very good. If I can just explain myself and pay him for his cooperation there's no way he would refuse right?' she thought to herself while slowly nodding.

After determining her next course of action she immediately stood up and slowly made her way to Tie Zhu's table, causing shocked glances from the other students as she did so.

'Look! The Frost Queen is actually approaching Tie Zhu!' they whispered, not knowing whether to feel envy or sorry for him as they were guessing what she was going to say to him. However the next words that came out of her mouth made their jaws drop wide open.

"Sorry for how I acted earlier, I didn't mean to be so harsh. I have been going through a lot lately and I actually have a favour to ask of you. Do you mind if I talk to you after class about it?" she coolly asked Tie Zhu.

"WHAT! The goddess is actually apologising to him and asking him for a favour!! Why is he so lucky!" many students exclaimed at the same time cursing at both Tie Zhu and their own luck.

In fact, Tie Zhu was also shocked at her apology, as it was quite out of her character to do so, especially taking the initiative to talk to other men. Realising that it was difficult for her to do so he didn't give it much more thought and forgave her.

"Don't worry about it, it wasn't a big deal, if you have a favour to ask just ask now" he replied curious of what favour she had in mind.

Upon hearing Tie Zhu's response Bing Meifeng breathed a sigh of relief however her cheeks suddenly flushed as she thought about her request she was about to make. Although she had no romantic feelings for Tie Zhu and knew that it was just pretend, she could not fully control her emotions as she never embraced the idea of love. This was because at home, her parents were constantly fighting, causing her view of relationships to be troublesome and unnecessary.

"I...I want you to be my boyfriend." She said quietly, causing deep gasps from the entire class including Tie Zhu himself, causing the room to go quiet for some time. What she had said was too unexpected, causing Tie Zhu to doubt his ears. In fact, she was about to say pretend boyfriend, but if the other students knew that it would not be convincing enough to trick her parents or Long Qingquan.

"What? me?!" Tie Zhu stuttered as he thought something was definitely wrong. 'Why would she ask me to be her boyfriend all of the sudden, unless its something else..' he thought to himself as he recalled that she wanted to talk to him in private. 'There must be an ulterior motive. She herself is a cultivator and everyone in the school knows that her family is rich, so her background must be very deep. If i get involved in this there are bound to be troubles. Plus I don't want to cause any misunderstanding with Tao Keke.' He thought to himself after taking time to analyse the situation. Although he still somewhat admired Bing Meifeng's beauty, he would not risk leaking his secrets before he had embarked on his road to cultivation.

"I'm sorry, although I admit that you are very beautiful, I just do not have any romantic feelings for you. Your not my type and i'm interested in someone else, sorry." He replied calmly, Once again shocking the entire class.

When Bing Meifeng heard his response she herself was taken aback. 'He actually refused me!' She thought angrily as embarrassment overwhelmed her emotions. 'What does he mean i'm not his type! He was blatantly ogling me before and he now says he is interested in someone else, Hmph all men are just liars!'

"Wait, can you let me explain it to you after class?" she responded trying to explain her situation and erase her embarrassment.

"I'm sorry but i don't think I can help you with your current problems. I think you are more than qualified to handle them yourself." He said, knowing that if she herself couldn't handle problems at the 7th stage on Qi Condensation he would likely not be able to do much.

"My God!! He actually rejected the Goddess not once but twice!!"

"WHAT RIGHT DOES HE HAVE TO REJECT THE GODDESS"

"He is going to regret this!"

"If she picked me I would have accepted any day of the week!" The students cried out.

Hearing the voices of her classmates Bing Meifeng's face instantly flushed a deep red. ''He didn't even let me explain myself and now everyone is laughing at me!' She thought angrily while dejectedly walking back to her seat. 'What can I do now? If only I was stronger I wouldn't have to put myself through this embarrassment. If only I could advance to the Qi foundation establishment I would be able to choose my own path but that's impossible to reach in such a short time. I wonder how much Qi my essence bottle has stored up. I'll have to check it later tonight, maybe with that i'll be able to advance my cultivation a bit.' she thought, trying to comfort herself and find other methods to cancel the marriage.
