New Maid

Butler Quan, an utterly observant and experienced man, had caught the look on the Young Miss's face without delay.

Therefore, he hurried to explain the situation to her as he had no intention of keeping her in the dark.

"Miss, this is Kira, your new maid." He introduced the youngster he had brought along with him.

Though the Butler was startled by the sudden news of the Young Miss's pregnancy last night, he got right to work once this initial surprise faded.

The Young Miss did not stay at the Main House and only visited her family who resided here on special occasions.

Therefore, there was no maid specifically assigned to look after the well-being of the only daughter of the Lin family.

There was never a need for it in the past as the Miss only stayed in this residence for a few hours before returning to her apartment close to her workplace.

However, things were different now that she had returned to the Main House and as per the instructions he had received from Young Master Christopher, she would continue to reside here in the future as well.

Hence it was crucial to select a maid who was competent and capable of serving the Young Miss to the best of her abilities.

Most of the staff hired by the Lin family were eligible for this post as they only chose hardworking and capable individuals.

Despite having only the best of the best to work here, Butler Quan was too cautious and fussy while selecting someone to serve as the Miss's personal maid.

After all, the Miss's current situation was a delicate one where she needed the utmost care and for such a task, only someone with experience and knowledge was needed.

With these criteria in mind, the old man had looked through the ledger which contained the information of everyone hired to work at the Lin family mansion.

In the beginning, he had intended to have an old maid with experience in child-rearing take up this task.

Though this changed when he found a job application attached to the information of a certain maid working at this mansion.

"Kira has worked as a healthcare provider previously." He explained, revealing why he had chosen this young maid over the older ones with greater experience.

After all, she too had amassed a good amount of experience before applying for the position of a healthcare provider to the Lin family.

However, at that time, there was no such position vacant for the young woman to occupy so the Butler had offered her a maid's job.

He did not know why a healthcare provider was willing to accept the job of a maid right away but he did not question her reasons, instead, he appointed her to the post and sent her to be trained before she could begin working.

It had been over a year since Kira joined their staff and never had there been any complaints about her or her work.

Hence Butler Quan had a positive opinion of her in the past and when he recalled that she was well-versed in the field of medicine, he had chosen her for this new post that had emerged just last night.

Not only was Kira well-educated about healthcare but she was also young which implied that she was capable of running around to ensure that the Miss's every request was taken care of.

Therefore, she was the perfect person for the job, and had brought her over to the Lily Room in order to introduce her to the Miss.

However, when he knocked on the door, he heard no response which made him wonder if the Miss had not woken up yet.

This made the old man chuckle at her childishness which continued even at this age.

Nevertheless, she needed to wake up as having her meals on time was essential for the good health of both the mother and the child.

Hence he excused himself before pushing the door open with the newly appointed personal maid right behind him.

To their surprise, the figure they were expecting to find asleep on the bed was in fact, slouched on the cold bathroom floor which brought panic to both the Butler and the maid's eyes.

Thus they rushed into the bathroom without delay and brought her out at the earliest.

Now that she was seated comfortably on the warm bed, Butler Quan introduced her to the new face while also explaining why he had chosen her specifically.
