7 Chapter 7 why did he still let me stay in his house?

After school me and Titus walked home together we didn't speak to each other but I had no were to go and my eyes started to fill up with tears I had to go back to the house to get my things but I was scared that titus wouldn't let me back in the house if I did and I would have no were to sleep . I stopped and pulled my phone out having the location of titus house save and my house also .

I told titus I will be back as my voice became weaker from crying

He had just kept walking I ran back to my house and packed my stuff and went to my parents room and saw that there was a photo of me and them I took it as well I opened the draws and there was a pendent with me my dad and my mom and my younger brother that passed away a while back when I was ten and he was 6

He loved to follow me around I started to tear up while looking at the picture of us

I put the pendent on and took my brothers little dinosaur plush and hugged it and put it in my back pack I also still had my bracket he had made me I took all my stuff and a photo abulm and when I was done I also took my purse and all the money that was in my parents room so I could pay titus back .

As I ran back to his house I came across a little kitty I stopped and saw it I couldn't just leave it here to die there's not many houses and it was getting dark the kitty came to me and I picked it up and said oh you poor little one ima take you with me and take a day of school to find your parents to morrow I ran with the kitty in one hand a bags a back pack and more bags in the other .

When I got to the house titus had made food for me and him he waited for me and as soon as I got back he was shocked to see a kitty in my hands .

He asked if I owed him and has the cat ate anything I shook my head no and was surprised he talked to me and said you mind if I uh stay with you ? Not to be a burden or anything but I can pay you pulls 300 bucks out my pocket.

No he replied you can stay but no paying me at all but do me a favor go to the pantry I have some cat food left when I was catsitting a friend's kitten .

I said ok and I gave titus the kitten and said it looks like you I smiled he smiled and his face turned red a little . As I went to grab it there was a note crumbled up saying " will you be my girlfriend scribbles beraly hid the words I had got confused who was it for but I wanna help him even though I like him he likes this girl so might as well help I grab the cat food and pound it into a little bow and grabbed a little bow and poured some water in it .

I came back and placed it on the floor and titus put the cat down and said it has no collar and it looks like a stray wanna keep him ? I said yes ofcourse I love cats !

And the cat came to the food bowl and ate the food .

I wonderd what should we name him ? I asked

He said " how bout" Eli? ... I didn't respond and I was shocked but I said yes after a while I looked down at my pendent of my family and titus asked what's wrong is the name bad ? No I replied that was my brother's name and...nevermind I love the name I smiled but it seemed as though I missed someone he could see the pain in my eyes .
