Eva's heart raced as she pushed Xylon's arms aside and moved away, her back pressing against the cool wall.
She couldn't bear to be so close to him, knowing that he could read her every reaction like an open book by the way her heart raced and her breath quickened.
As she settled against the wall, she mustered the courage to meet Xylon's gaze. His expression was serious, his eyes searching hers for answers.
"Eva….damn... like always," he began, his tone tinged with frustration.
Her breath caught in her throat as she interrupted him, her words tumbling out in a stuttering rush.
"W-What are you doing…. h-here?" she blurted out, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
