008 - A new “new” beginning.

With a huge flock of crows circling above the battlefield and trying to eat as much as they can before all food will be destroyed by fire. The biggest of the crows descended on a pile of corpses and tried to eat the most delicious-looking part. There was a movement in the pile of corpses. With groaning, Vanessa crawls out and started to fight off crow, grunting-

"When I finally see Grunt I need to thank him for beating me that much. If not him, I might be as good as dead. But I still will kick his ass in the future."

Vanessa with all her remaining stamina, was moving through the battlefield while observing the burning corpses of former villagers. Suddenly, she spotted the corpse of Grunt. Her eyelids shut, all her memories of the village flashed.

With sorrow, she moved ahead. There was no time for crying. She needs to survive this through first. She moves to a nearby forest fearing that enemies return.

In the forest Vanessa tried to find a place for recuperation. She found a hollow in a tree that could fit her in. There she started to aid her wounds. She felt her eyelids got really heavy -

"Ahh shit, I-I'm losing consciousness..." and then she felt unconsciousness.

Some miles away from Vanessa, a Patrol squad that consisted of 4 people spotted the smoke pillar. At the same time a pigeon with mail got down on a middle-aged man's shoulder. Man read mail and seeing pillar say to a young man

"Commander Vlad I think we spotted an enemies squad that intruded through our border "

Young Vlad answers "We need to hurry, maybe we can collect data that will help our army to track them. We will move in triangle formation. Nezha, you will be in the front, Yogen and Pifo on the sides, While I will be in command at the center."

"Move on. "

"Yes, commander!"

Later, the squad came to the burning village. Approaching squad saw a flaming settlement and a lot of corpses on fire. Large quantities of crows circling and eating corpses. Vlad claimed -

"Investigate what happened here and search for any survivors. Try to find the enemy's traces. Disperse."

The Squad moved in different directions. Vlad went to check the bodies and soon after found traces of survival. The traces lead him to a nearby forest. In the forest Vlad was moved carefully. He spends a lot of time there. Only by the time a sunset rose he finally spotted an unconscious female body in a hollow tree. He can find her only because of his education and abilities some common commander definitely can find her

On the gathering spot all members of the squad were waiting for Vlad.

Vlad arrived with a body on his shoulder and said

"Pifo, nurse her wounds. Yogen, report."

His right-hand man, Yogen gave a summarized report, while Pifo was mending Vanessa's wounds.

"Villagers tried to fight back until they got destroyed, but approximately more than ⅔ of the enemy squadron died. Female, children and elders evacuated to the nearby city. Enemy traces were cleared."

Unconscious Vanessa heard some noises which triggered her instincts. She moved fast and caught the unprepared Pifo in hostage.

"Who are y…" She couldn't finish her line by the time she was knocked out by Nezha.

Nezha, with indifferent gesture said

"Pifo, even a village girl can take you in hostage. Shame on you."

"Finish with her wounds, and we will move on." commanded Vlad.

"As you say, commander!"
