I Became The Female Lead's Step Sister

The world can be a place of joy and laughter or a place of pain, tears and sorrow. I was unfortunate enough to be in the latter description of the world. But one day, in a world of adventure, fight for love and survival, I finally find myself as a mere pawn destined to end tragically. I transmigrated into a no-romance novel called 'Duchess Accorsa' as the only step sister of the villainous female lead. And it is my duty to make this place my world of happiness, my own very solace.

Eloise

I gasped and covered my mouth with both hands.

"You are a warlock!" I blurted out before I even realised.

"What? No way! I can't be something that pathetic. I'm the king of spirits." He boosted with a smirk, but I wasn't listening to him.

My eyes were on Accorsa, the light that formed a cocoon around her slowly faded and Accorsa laid there, all her injuries were gone but her armour was still and blood stained.

Her pale face slowly regained colour and my beating heart calmed down. I smiled, slowly forgetting about the presence of the man behind me.

"S-sister... Hic."

My smile faded when she remained unconscious.

"Sister?"

"Hey, why isn't she waking up? What did you do?!" I shouted at the man, warlock or whatever he called himself.

"Are kids of these days this fierce?" The man clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes.

"She'll wake up but not now, she's still recuperating." He added calmly.

I glanced at Accorsa, she was fine.

"Hahahahaha." I laughed, my eyes were still blurred with tears. My little hands held tightly unto her hand.

You lived, Accorsa.

"My Lady?!" A masculine voice called from behind me.

I turned back and saw Sir Caleb running towards us.

"You, why is the little princess here?" Sir Caleb asked.

I could not give him an answer since.it would put Yvonne in trouble, instead I kept shut and turned to where the red haired man stood before. He was still there with a bored look on his face.

Caleb knelt before Accorsa and checked her pulse.

"Huh, she's fine?" He asked with a baffled look.

"Yes." I replied.

"Then... Why is she unconscious?"

"Ah, that..." I turned to the red haired man but he just quietly stared back at me.

Sir Caleb followed my gaze and finally noticed the red haired man.

Sir Caleb hastily drew his sword and pointed it at him.

"Who are you?" He questioned, his voice deeper and scarier than usual.

"What? She summoned me." The red haired man gestured calmly at me like a sword wasn't even pointed at him.

"What are you saying?" Sir Caleb frowned.

I myself was confused.

Who summoned who?

When?

How?

Why?

"I see no summoning circle anywhere." Sir Caleb said.

"Yes. I don't see one either." The red haired man shrugged.

Sir Caleb gritted his teeth. He did not believe it just like me.

"You, do what you did before." The red haired man pointed at me and ordered.

"What did I do?" I blinked blankly.

"Don't act like you know nothing, all those crying, wishing, begging..." The red haired man explained with a frustrated look.

My face reddenned in embarrassment. It was embarrassing enough that someone saw me crying but now he was saying it in front of Sir Caleb.

But if the man said he was summoned, it was very likely to be true, after all he appeared out of nowhere.

The lost power of the Blithwines was ability to summon spirits, beasts, demons and any other being. But, it was never mentioned in the original novel, that any character manifested the Blithwine's ability... especially not the pawn in the novel, Tatiana Elia Blithwine.

Was this a transmigrator buff or just my interference in the novel?

Either way I had to do something for the red haired man since he saved Accorsa.

"Whoever you are, you need to follow me for questioning." Sir Caleb said.

"No way. A summon only follow it's summoner." The red haired man replied with vigilance. His golden eyes glimmered under the sun light.

I quickly stood in front of him before Sir Caleb would charge at him.

"Sir Caleb, he is Tatiana's summon." I quickly said.

"What?"

"What?"

The two men stared at me with wide eyes.

"Sir Caleb, can't you see his eyes, there golden just like mine." I added.

Sir Caleb lowered his sword and squinted his eyes.

"That's right." Sir Caleb nodded. Sir Caleb was shocked but he quickly calmed down like he had been trained on what to do during shocking situations.

"But does that mean that the little lady is a summoner?" Sir Caleb asked.

"I guess?" I shrugged nonchalantly.

"Then I would take the lady's secret to my grave."

Wait, what secret?!

If it's known that the second daughter of the Blithwine Dukedom is a summoner, then the throne of the Dukedom is sure for Accorsa.

"No, Sir Caleb! It's not a secret."

"Then the lady would be in danger if word gets out."

"Who can harm Tatiana when Pretty sister is here, hmm?" I raised my head up with pride evident in my voice.

Sir Caleb simply nodded.

"Hey, why I'm I being left out?!" The red haired man yelled.

"Because your opinion is not needed." Sir Caleb calmly replied.

"How dare you!"

This pair wouldn't be the best of friends, they even already seems to dislike each other.

"Summon?" I called.

The red haired man turned to me when I called.

"What's your name?" I asked.

His golden eyes scanned me from head to toe before he unwillingly gave me an answer.

"Eloise."

"Nice to meet you, Eloise. I am Tatiana." I stretched out my hand for a handshake.

Eloise stared at my hand.

"Tsk." He clicked his tongue and looked away.

"You, how dare you?!" Caleb yelled at Eloise, probably for rejecting my outstretched hand.

"Hahaha."

*********

I sat on a chair besides the bed and slowly watched the person who laid on the bed, her white hair was spread by her side and her long white lashes laid over her eyes lightly touching her cheeks.

The beast attack was successfully ended partly because of Eloise's help and the people had gone back to their houses to repair and clean the streets.

It was almost past noon and Accorsa still hadn't opened her eyes. At one point, I panicked and thought she would never open her eyes again but Eloise and Sir Caleb reassured me.

Irene was furious that I left the Duchy alone but all I told her was Eloise helped me escape, that way Yvonne was saved.

The young lady on the bed slowly fluttered her white lashes and her eyes opened revealing a pair of bright golden eyes.

"Tatiana?" She called in a hoarse voice.

I quickly rushed to the table and poured a glass of water for her. Then I realised... The female lead just called me by my name, some thing that never happened in the original.

"Pretty Sister." I smiled at her but all she did was scowl at me even after drinking the water.

"Wh-what did Tatiana do?" I stuttered.

"Why where you outside the Duchy?" Accorsa asked in a stern voice.

"I..." I was out of excuses, no I did not even have any excuse to give.

"You would have died." Accorsa sighed.

"But I didn't... I'm sorry, pretty sister was injured because of me." I apologized sincerely.

"Yes, that's right! How come I'm fine now?" Accorsa asked as if she just realised.

I slowly backed away, I can't explain. Instead I would leave the explanation to Sir Caleb or Irene.

"Eh... Later, bye." I quickly ran out of the room.

"Hey!" Accorsa called but I was already gone.
