This energy that burst forth from this young man suddenly formed a barrier around him.

This wasn't a barrier in the traditional sense of a barrier, but rather a barrier that was wrapped around him like a layer of skin. This barrier was created to completely cover him from head to toe, just like a suit of armour.

With this barrier, he was able to resist all of the water needles that came at him, allowing him to push the sahuagins.

When the sahuagins noticed this, they immediately started to draw back while firing more water needles.

However, the young man with the barrier ignored all of this.

The sahuagins were retreating while shooting these water needles, so they were moving slower than normal.

The young man had abandoned all caution and was charging them with reckless abandon, so he was able to catch up to them easily and slam his fists up against their tridents.
