When the video call connected, Lixin was greeted with a hilarious sight. Zeyu's appearance was a comical mess – his hair stood up in every direction like a mischievous porcupine, and his clothes were smeared with mud.
This gave him the appearance of a wayward adventurer who had taken a few too many tumbles. Lixin couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight of his cousin in such disarray.
"What the heck happened to you?" Lixin managed to say amidst his laughter, trying to contain his amusement.
"Urg, don't get me started," Zeyu replied with irritation etched on his mud-streaked face. "Let's just say that I overestimated myself and got my butt kicked," he confessed, wiping a streak of mud from his cheek. "Luckily, I escaped before things got worse."
"Escaped from what? You look like someone almost buried you," Lixin teased, struggling to keep a straight face.
