Chapter 48: The Slums (2)

Suddenly, a Latino man and his henchmen appeared, interrupting the confusion in the room. His presence exuded authority and menace as he addressed the captives. "Hello, fancy folks, welcome to the slums," he said mockingly, his voice full of disrespect. "And what you all see as trash, well, that's your new home now, isn't it?"

"Don't fret, folks," the man declared, his voice carrying a chilling edge. "For the moment, we'll spare your lives since Boss Jon isn't present. And rest assured, we won't harm the children on his orders." He hinted at a threat with his next words, saying, "Boss Jon said we'd keep you all alive until he gets here, but that doesn't mean I won't cut down a few of you in the meantime."

The Latino Man scanned the room, his expression darkening. "Where's my bat?" he demanded.

"Here it is, Boss George," replied one of his henchmen, handing him the weapon.

"Good. Now, where should I start, hmm?" Latino man also known as George pondered aloud, his eyes glinting with malice.

"I should start with you, the Windsor family," Boss George declared, his voice dripping with malice. "The British family known for their big investments." He turned his gaze towards the family, his eyes cold and calculating. "I'm sure if I kill you, the head of the Windsor family - Lander Windsor - Boss Jon will be very pleased indeed."

As the family trembled with fear, Luke Windsor, the young man of the family, couldn't help but voice his concerns. "Dad, are we gonna die?" he whispered, his voice filled with fear and uncertainty.

His father, Lander Windsor, tried to reassure him, but his voice faltered. "No, son, we'll make it through," he said, though uncertainty clouded his words. "We just have to stay calm and hope for the best." But deep down, he knew they were at the mercy of their captors.

Elizabeth Windsor tried to reassure her son, her voice trembling with both fear and determination. "We'll stay together, darling," she whispered urgently, her words filled with resolve despite their dire circumstances. "We'll figure out a way to escape from this situation." Even though she was handcuffed to the bars, she attempted to comfort her son, but the gravity of their predicament weighed heavily on everyone present.

As George came closer, his tall and intimidating presence seemed to envelop the helpless family, he scoffed at Elizabeth's words. "How touching," he sneered, his voice laced with cruelty. Without warning, he swung his bat with brutal force, he aimed directly at Lander Windsor, Elizabeth's husband.

The captives felt scared at what happened and even more terrified as they realized their attempts to escape were useless. With their hands cuffed, they were stuck, unable to do anything but watch in horror as the terrifying scene played out in front of them.

As George kept attacking, Lander screamed in pain, and his cries mixed with the with the sickening sound of bones breaking and flesh tearing. "argh!!!!!!" he yelled; his voice full of blood as George kept hitting him hard.

With every hit, Lander's face turned into a horrifying sight. His head became a mess of broken bones and torn flesh, far from how it looked before. Blood poured from the deep cuts on his skull, and his eyes bulging grotesquely from their sockets in a shocking display of violence. It was clear how brutal the attack was.

"Son... Eliza..." Lander managed to choke out between gasps of pain, his words barely audible over the sickening sound of George's relentless assault. His shattered jaw hung limply from his face; his features contorted in agony as he fought to hold onto consciousness.

Elizabeth could only stare in horror as her husband suffered the violent attack, her own screams lost in the chaotic noise around them. Luke, frozen with shock, could only watch with wide eyes as the terrible scene unfolded.

In the bright afternoon of the slums, Lander, once a respected wealthy man, suffered under George's brutal attack. With every hit, Lander screamed in pain, his body twisting in agony. His bloodied figure showed the harsh reality of their situation, a warning to anyone who challenged their captors.

As the savage assault unfolded before them, the wealthy captives watched in horror, their faces contorted with shock and disbelief. Some turned away, unable to bear witness to the brutality unfolding before them, while others stared in stunned silence, their minds struggling to comprehend the gruesome scene playing out before them.

Mark's eyes filled with tears as he watched the brutal scene unfold. It reminded him of painful memories from his past, bringing back the loss he had experienced when Teacher Dan died. The sight of Lander's suffering shook him to his core, leaving him feeling helpless and overwhelmed with despair.

Mark's mind filled with desperate pleas for help as he silently begged for someone to rescue them. "Please, anyone, save us," he whispered urgently, his voice trembling with fear. "Please, Spider-Man, if you're there, please come and save us!"

Mark's silent plea for help echoed through the gloomy slums, a desperate hope for someone to rescue them from the terrifying situation they found themselves in. In the darkness, he held onto the belief that the mysterious vigilante known as Spider-Man would answer his call and put an end to their suffering.

Meanwhile

As I swung through this slums area, keeping a close watch on the convoy of vehicles, my mind raced with questions. Where were they headed? And what were they planning to do with the Vibranium they had stolen?

As I followed them discreetly, a troubling thought crossed my mind. Could they be connected to the 69 organization, just like Jord Hos? The possibility sent a shiver down my spine. If they were, then their intentions were likely far more sinister than simple theft.

But I couldn't jump to conclusions. I needed more information before I could confront them. With every swing of my web, I remained vigilant, determined to uncover the truth and put a stop to their nefarious plans. "Chris, wait for now," I murmured under my breath, knowing that rushing in without a clear plan could jeopardize both of us. "I need to know where they're taking you."

Meanwhile

Thomas Halloway and the buzz-cut 15-year-old boy, Loe, remained in the car, with Thomas contacting Police Captain Edward Wilson through his mcall communication device.

"Sorry, Sir Thomas, I'm busy," Captain Wilson responded hurriedly. "There are so many things going on – rich people disappearing, terrorists targeting them. I don't know anymore," he added, sounding overwhelmed.

Thomas realized the urgency of the situation and knew he had to share the information he had. "Wait," he said, trying to grab the captain's attention before he hung up. "I have news that may be related to the disappearance of these wealthy individuals."

"What is it?" asked Captain Edward Wilson.

"Do you know about Chris Hilton, my student, right?" Thomas Halloway inquired.

"Yes, I know about him," replied Captain Edward Wilson.

"He was suddenly taken away by unknown people. I don't know them because I was unconscious at the time due to their sleeping gas," explained Thomas Halloway.

As Thomas spoke, Captain Edward Wilson realized the implications: Chris Hilton was one of the wealthy individuals who had taken, and his father had also vanished. This suggested a connection between the disappearances and the larger pattern of wealthy individuals going missing.

"Tell me more," requested Captain Wilson, his tone indicating a mix of urgency and concern..

[Two weeks before this happened and after the school incident, Captain Edward Wilson found out that Thomas Halloway used to be a vigilante. Instead of being upset, Captain Wilson respected Thomas for his past actions. Thomas said his vigilantism days were over, and they became friends because of their shared desire to do what's right.]

[Captain Wilson often turned to Thomas for advice, trusting in this old man's experience and wisdom. Thomas, in return, was always ready to listen and provide guidance, understanding the challenges Captain Wilson faced as a police captain.]
