15. Ghost?

It's morning already.

First thing Nich did was to turn off the defiant alarm clock, who was yet again disturbing his deep slumber with diligence.

Nich stared at the ceiling for a while, then stared at for some more time.

Then, when he remembered what happened last time he got late, he decided to wake up.

At the dining table, the atmosphere was lively, Nich took a seat after greeting everyone.

"Did you sleep well, Nich?"

Grandma asked, with a smile.

"Yes, i did, how about you grandma, did you had a good sleep?"

Nich replied, with a slight smile.

"Hmm, the environment of the city is not quite same as the village, you know i woke up at late today! Back in the village i can usually wake up at 4-5 am."

Grandma sighed, then shook her head.

"I will get complacent at this rate."

Nich took a seat and began eating, while grandma talked to jasmine.

She was usually not this talkative.

'Well, she must be worriny about grandpa till late, i doubt she even slept properly.'

The reason why she is so talkative, was probably to show that she was alright.

She just doesn't want us to worry.

Nich did not know how to feel about it, he ate till his fill then got up to get ready for school.

Opening the door, he almost walked to his backyard.

'It's a habit i guess.'

With quite and unhurried steps, Nich walked on the road that lead to his school.

At first Nich was baffled by the stares that he recived, but now not only was he used to them, he now found amusement in the stares.

'Quite fun it is.'

When someone stared at him, he would look the culprit dead in the eye, with no emotions in his eyes or face.

Often times, getting caught while staring people would feel embarrassed and look away, girls in particular.

Though there were some thick-skinned people who would not back down, it was still nonetheless fun.

Supremacy through a staring contest?

Count me in.

Fortunately, when he reached the school there were few people, which accounted up to few stares.

After all, He can't stare at everyone at the same time.

*slide*

Sliding the door, he went inside.

There was only Alisha, quietly sitting in the corner while reading a book.

Nich was interested in what kind of book it was, Nich was able to see the title of the book from afar.

The title read- "choices of life, and the consequences."

The only sound present in the room was of Nich's footsteps, and Alisha seemed to not notice his presence at all.

Taking quite steps, Nich reached towards his desk, then took a seat.

'Hmm'

Nich pondered, deep in thought.

The cover of the book depicted the picture of a mind so maybe it was a psychological book, and judging from the number of pages turned to the left, Nich had a rough idea about how much she read it.

'There are only two pages left.'

Nich thought.

At that moment, Alisha looked up from the book, and looked at Nich.

When their eye's met, Nich was slightly nervous, but soon regaining himself, he asked.

"What kind of book is that?''

Alisha looked down at the book, and then looked at him again, then a soft voice was heard throughout the silent room.

"It's a psychological book, written by a famous author, i like all of his works... "

Alisha paused for a second, her expression went from neutral to that of wondering, then continued.

"This one... I was not able to understand it, even though i read it thrice already."

Alisha said, in a somewhat troubled tone.

"This book feels like it should belong to a different genre... Maybe spiritual?"

Alisha stopped after that, then looked at The book again for a moment.

"Seems interesting."

Nich said.

Alisha seemed to be wondering about something, then she looked up again, and said.

"Would like to have this book? I would appreciate it if there was someone to share an understanding from."

Alisha asked.

Nich thought for a moment, then said.

"Ok, then i will be borrowing it from you."

Saying that, Nich took the book, and then began reading.

Nich was not the kind of reader that would read every book from the same author, but when he did read a book he will be engrossed in it.

Sometime passed, and more and more students began to enter in the quite classroom.

Soon, Nich heard the same voice as he did usually, gossiping about some kind of incident.

"Did you hear? There was a ghost slighted at the street 45 yesterday, 2 in the morning!"

So i am a ghost now?

"Oh that street 45? I heard it's quite infamous for such incident."

"Yeah, the story goes like this, a well modest and honest man, after staying out and working for late was driving home."

Honest and modest? If i flicked his forehead he will fall! That's how drunk that man was.

"Of course, being so late to reach home and also driving at a street where there weren't many people, he drove fast."

He will reach the good heavens before his home at that speed.

"The poor guy was just worried about thieves and such."

Another voice said.

"It was then! Suddenly in front of him, a figure that was hard to discern emerged, as if spawning there, and when the man's car collided with the ghost, the car stopped."

"Then the ghost, which the mand described as having long ,grotesque limbs, while his face was covered in a veil of darkness, his mouth was still visible. And his teeths looked like he drank on human blood! Then mysteriously, the ghost disappeared."

Nich decided to ignore the bunch, focusing on the book, but Alisha seemed interested in the discussion.

"It is said that when the man finally woke up from the shock—"

You mean by being drunk?

"He found that his car's engine was filled with water, cold water."

'The engine must be hot'

"Hey, how about we go explore that road?"

One of the brave voice said, due to which everyone stopped to look at him.

"..."

"..."

"..."

After everyone stared at the person who had said it, after a while of silence the boy looked down and said.

"Yeah.. It's not a good idea, sorry."

The discussion soon remused, now the topic was different.

"Hey, did you hear about it?on a mountain close to the riverwood city, strangly a wildfire appeared."
