CHAPTER FIFTEEN
DISCLAIMER: NOT MY SONG ITS "GALES OF SONG" ENGLISH VERSION BY BELLE
Soon enough, the timer ran out, and Phil escorted me to the stage. "Don't mess up. Or it'll be bad for us." Phil muttered to me through gritted teeth. "Oh, wow, captain awesome, thank you! I feel so relieved and not pressured at all!" I backhanded sarcastically. As I stepped onto the stage. my wings unfolded gloriously - almost tipping me off balance, but Phil grabbed my priest robed before I could actually lose it. "Dont. Mess. Up. Im telling you again." he said finally, before disappearing behind the curtains. Oh, I was screwed.
Or so I thought, but the crowd let out the loudest cheer in history at my hand, which had been glowing since I saw Phil. OOp. I get why Cordelia likes being a priestess now - compared to her being a pushover, these people were basically worshipping me. Cries of "Priestess, please bless us!" Rang out. Wooooow, im jealous of Bog now. Instead of becoming this sappy heroine, why couldn't I just become the creator of the universe? Things would be so much easier! Oh, but the crowd was already chanting. HEH. Maybe I should have thought this out, but now it was too late. Especially because I could already see the beady stares of nobles from inside their posh carriages.
"La - la - la…." I tried, and instantly everyone went quiet. no background music? An acoustic ver?????? okay, I'll try my best. "Gales of song….. guide me through the storm…." a slight echo, and also a breeze that definitely wasn't there before. My hand was now shining like a lightbulb, and apparently, it was purifying my terrible pitch and voice. As the lady had predicted, it was hoarse like nails on metal. but the echo that returned sounded divine. Thanks, hand!
"On the wings of a small, simple melody. Words take flight and soar, they carry me, a world we'll see. Looking for a farewell, I pull the threads." I said, my voice going a pitch higher. Go, go, go! Luckily I had made sure to write the song Cordelia was supposed to sing was one of my all-time favorites, which I had heard millions of times and sang even more. "A life without you I cannot accept, I can't tell that lie…. I can't let go, but now that you're gone I have to move on, seems like everyone, just smiles staring at the sun, but what about me? Tell me how I will know - where I should go, oh gales you sing and guide-e me!" I said, cutting it off right then and there. My hand was throbbing, and so was my head. The song had only been about 30 seconds long - but the crowd didnt seem to mind.
Cheers erupted, and people started throwing coins at me. I smiled. A headache was a small price to pay for this glory, huh? Anyway, a hand grabbed me by the wrist and yanked me inside. I thought it was Phil, so I turned to say, "That wasn't so bad, was it-" But I stopped halfway through. Because it wasn't Phil.
The annoying rat whose face I had smashed with a clump was now standing in front of me.
