Chapter 497: Scheming

In the Pingtofang district of Feng'an City, within a seemingly ordinary residence.

The main hall's living room was empty, save for an altar table placed right against the wall facing the entrance. Wisps of blue smoke curled from the incense burner on it, while a small, arm-high clay-painted figure stood in the center of the altar table.

A bearded middle-aged man stood erect beside it, while another middle-aged man with a goatee knelt on a cushion in front of the table.

This man held four sticks of incense, bowing respectfully to the figure. With each bow, a fine wisp of smoke flew out of the incense burner, shooting towards the figure like an arrow.

With each penetration, the figure shrank a little, and in just a short while, it had already shortened by a finger's breadth.

The smiling goateed man was about to continue bowing when the clay figure suddenly erupted with an invisible force.
