Chapter 35

Orion

"T..that ma….maybe the Queen ki..killed the…them t..to g…get h.her re..revenge" he said, shaking. I superspeed to his front and grabbed him by the neck squeezing it tightly.

"Are you trying to say that my mate, your Queen is a murderer?" I asked, gritting my teeth. I squeezed his neck tighter and I could see his face changing colour.

"Your majesty, please calm down, let's handle the situation calmly," one of my generals said. I throw the guard into the wall.

"I am running out of patience. Where are the guards sent to look for the queen?" I asked. 

"We are here your majesty" some guards yelled, running inside.

"What did you find?" I asked. 

"Your majesty we didn't find anything, the only information we gathered is that Queen Odetta went to the kitchen and requested for Hannah, Katrina and Emerald to clean the abandoned room in the east. She also requested two maids to follow her and give her a massage in the garden. The maids said Queen Odetta went back to the royal quarters which the guards stationed in front of the bedroom comfirmed, Queen Odetta did not leave the room since then, how she disappeared is what we do not know" one of them said. So how did she disappear then, and did she really kill this maids I mean I locked her up because of them. I sit on my throne confused.

"Bring in the guards stationed in  front of the bedroom," I said. 

"Okay your majesty" he said, running out. I sigh, Odetta I do not know what you are up to Odetta but it's beginning to stress me out, nobody said having a mate comes with this baggage and I don't even know where we went wrong, everything was perfect or is there something about Odetta that I do not know? Is there a mystery surrounding her? I have never been so confused. I thought rubbing my forehead.

"Your majesty," the guard I sent said, coming in with other guards. 

"These are the two men that were stationed in front of the royal bedroom," he said. 

"Speak," I said. They bowed their heads. 

"Your majesty, Queen Odetta truly entered the room and she did not come out of the room, we have searched the room but we didn't see her but we saw this strange leaf" he said, with an outstretched hand. I looked at the leaf, I can't recognise it from here.

"Bring it forward," I said. A small cloth was given to him, he placed the leaf inside and brought it to me.  I collected it. This leaf is so unfamiliar. The leaf has different colors of purple, red and black and it also looks like it has sharp edges. What sort of leaf is this and why is it in the bedroom?

"Does anyone recognize this leaf?" I asked, passing it to the general near me. The leaf was passed on and nobody knows the leaf. 

"Get the physicians," I said. 

"Yes, your majesty," a guard said. This situation is becoming more confusing, mutilated and dead maids, missing Queen, uncommon leaf and they are all leading to Odetta. What has this lady put herself into? I am not even feeling her in the bond, it looked like she disappeared or I never had a mate. I don't feel worried as I should, my demon is not even worried about his mate, it looked like she never existed.

"The physicians are here your majesty" a voice said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Do any of you recognise this leaf?" I asked. The leaf was given to them, they all looked at the leaf. I really hope they know it.

"Yes, your majesty," one of them said. 

"Tell me about it" I said. 

"This is a special leaf, your majesty, it is a poisonous leaf. This leaf when digested paralyzes the victim, the victim won't be able to talk, eat or do anything he/she will be paralysed from head to toe and the victim will die slowly. This leaf cannot be found anywhere, your majesty. It is very poisonous and it has no cure and when the victim dies, they die forever" he said. Everyone gasps. This tiny little leaf is capable of killing a supernatural forever, why is it in our bedroom then?

"Your majesty, could it be that Queen Odetta is trying to kill you because you locked her up?" A general said. I didn't fight him, I thought about it. Could it be that Odetta truly killed those maids because they reported her and now she wants to kill me because I locked her up? Can Odetta truly do that? Kill her mate? Maybe she ran away because she knew she was going to get accused of killing the maids. I sigh, I have had enough of you Odetta, I am going to find you and if truly you killed these innocent maids and you are aiming to kill me then I will kill you myself, mate or not.

"Everyone find Odetta and bring her to me alive!" I yelled.

Unknown Pov

"Oh no, things are really turning upside down, what are we going to do?" The old woman said worriedly.

"There is nothing we can do," a man said, a sad look on his face.

"We all know who Orion is, even if the curse has been uplifted there is a darkness surrounding him, now his aim is to find Odetta and probably kill her. What if Odetta manages to escape and Orion finds her, she will be in great danger. She is innocent but Orion doesn't know that and he is no longer feeling the bond as he should and he doesn't know that Margaret and Ryker are behind all this" another woman said, tears running down her face.

"But Odetta is a tribrid" the man said.

"She is but right now she is basically a supernatural being without powers," the old woman said.

"Odetta and Orion might destroy themselves if care is not taken because even if Odetta is weak she won't back down, she never backs down. They are both very stubborn and hard headed and that might be their destruction" the man said. 

"I pray Margaret is found quickly" the older woman said. 

"Do you really think Aaron will help her, he already knows she is dying slowly and he is not helping her, he never loved her he is just using her to take down Orion '' the man said. 

"Yes that's true, Aaron is not working for Margaret he is loyal to Ryker. They are both using Margaret and she is a fool to have fallen for his tricks" the woman said. 

"Well I don't care about Margaret, I only fear for Odetta and Orion. I hope they won't destroy themselves due to their troublesome nature,"she said. 

"If Odetta is going to be in danger if she manage to escape then I hope she never escape, at least for now" she said.

"I have an ideal" the old woman said.

"what?" the man and woman said in unison.

"why don't we invite an old friend?"
