Chapter 3

I decided to check if I had any other abilities. Alice called and said she was going to camping tonight and will be staying in the forest for the next three days. I jumped with joy at the idea. Mom was on the phone. I asked for permission to go. She seemed to be okay with the idea. So I quickly packed my stuff before she could change her mind. What surprised me was that I managed to do in under six seconds. I even changed my clothes in under two seconds. I walked out while she was on the phone. She gave me some money to buy some essentials. I wrote a note declaring where I was going to be for the next few days and stuck it to her badge in case she has forgotten. I intentionally left my phone on the charger as I walked out.

Daisy was waiting for me around the corner. Alice, Cathy and Annie was there. They seemed to notice my change and declared that when we get back we should go shopping. I didn't mind as long as I didn't look like a fruitcake. I looked around and Alice winked at me, "We are trying to stay away from Angela." I shook my head in resignation. "What did she do?" The others felt it was best if they stopped talking about it and drove to see the forest ranger.

He called mom to make sure she knew that I was here. After she confirmed it we were allowed to go camping unsupervised. He gave us a designated area for camping and asked to stay on the trail since people go missing after they decide to play Tarzan. I laughed at the idea and left to find a spot for the tents. We pitched the tents and left to go fishing. I got bored so I left to play explorer. I managed a few dozen feet when I heard screams. I ran as fast my legs would let me. I reached the clearing and saw that they were all alive.

I found a scared Alice shaking from head to toe. She grabbed me. She cried as she told me she found a snake. I peeled her off me and quickly pulled out a bucket from the truck. I asked where it was. I found it before she pointed it out. I pulled it and it tried to bite me. I think it looked like it was afraid of me. I threw it into the bucket and placed a piece of wood on top of it. Daisy picked up some heavy rocks. She used them as weights to make sure it stays in the bucket.

We peed and went straight to fishing. We used nets to catch fish. Cathy and I dug a pit to make sure that when we light the fire it will not spread into the rest of the forest and burn it to ashes. Annie and Daisy gutted and filleted the fish while Alice made the flat breads to eat with the fish. We made a teepee and set it on fire and made sure to add charcoal and twigs to make a fireplace to stay warm and for cooking. We placed grates on top of the fire and grilled the fish. We also baked the flatbreads. We made hot chocolate and s'mores. We sang, danced and made jokes. We even told horror stories.

The girls fell asleep but I couldn't sleep. I tried really I did. But sleep wouldn't have me. So I decided to go for a walk. I walked till I heard a bunch of bats. They used echolocation to find their way around so I sensed my way and discovered that I have it too. I sensed my way around with my eyes closed. I looked around and saw that they were flying so I sensed the wind envelope me. I jumped up and let the wind take me wherever it was going like a glider or a kite. I decided that I want to go on my own direction. I managed to go for a few minutes before I decided to come down.

I heard people talking so I looked through the bushes and saw the raven haired guy. He was talking to Mac. The nurse was brought over and he was acting arrogant. He was very happy that he will be joining the newest generation of werewolves. He was disappointed when they informed him that he will not be a werewolf. He stomp off like kid. He tried to yell at the guys for not allowing him to be one of them. They explained that he was drawing too much attention. He stormed off and the others changed into wolves. I was so scared that I ran as fast as my legs would let me. I managed to get as far away as possible without hitting any branches or get impaled. I heard a noise so I dropped down and crawled myself to safety. I climbed up the tree like I was Spiderman. I heard a voice and I was scared that it might be a bunch of bad guys. I really wanted very much to disappear. A young man and older woman walked past me and looked around. The man looked up and declared that there was nobody here. I waved my hand at them and they didn't see me. I looked at my hand and it looked like a chameleon. I realized that I was invisible. I slowly got down and walked back to my tent. I calmed myself down and became visible again. I tried my best but still didn't fall asleep. I was so annoyed that I picked up my iPod and listen to Mrs Fauley's lecture. It usually knocks me out but this time it didn't do the trick.

The next morning I walked out my tent to see that girls had decided to call it quits. They heard eerie noise all night. We came back to town and I decided to take a breath of fresh air. I walked till I was sure that nobody was insight and used superspeed to reach the edge of town. There was a dilapidated barn, a mouldy stable and a crumbling building that was one the most employeed building in the town. It was the sugar factory. A few yards away was the mill. It looks like the leaning tower of Pisa.

I saw a couple of parkour artists performing near the abandoned mill. I thought what they did looked cool so I asked them to teach me. They wanted to know if I was serious. I made it very clear that I wanted it very much. It took much effort but they finally said yes. They were doing a few basic moves when one of them cut their hand. I can smell it from a hundred yards away. I ran quickly and sucked the blood to make sure that it didn't get infected. I stepped aside and I saw his entire life flash before me. It took me a moment but I understood how to replicate his moves. I am sure I can replicate all of his moves instinctively. We heard sirens and the guys dispersed. I became invisible and hid till the uniform cop got back in car and left. I went back to Cathy's and asked her if we could go to the beach house for these three days. She called the others and we left for the beach.
