Chapter 24

Buzz cut was dragged kicking and screaming for memory wipe and he thought we were escorting him to the door. He redoubled his efforts when he saw a chair. As he was strapped down he started blackmailing people. Nobody paid attention. When he was tied down I asked him if he was comfortable. He spat at me and I backed away. I retorted, "Welcome to the last stage of deportation. Where your memories of this place will be wiped off. I was going ask you if you had any last words." He started to fidget, "Memory what?" Igor laughed, "You are going to forget that you were here. If you try to remember the last eight months you spent here it will be a blank." He started to scream and tried to break out of his bonds as Nina came forth. She placed both hands on the side of his head. She wiped his memory clean and sent him unconscious to the ghost town.

The Red Guards got a new member who was interested in me. He asked nicely if I could come. He promised to be transparent and also there will be a video link that will let them know what is going on the entire time. Abe said yes as the council protested. Soren thought it was a bad idea but in the end Abe won. I had to go with them unless they prove to be the bad guys.

We left at sun down. Betty and Aaron came too. We flew till we reached a point where it was safe to drive. The Red Guards introduced themselves. The woman who argued with buzz cut is Carol. The Latino is Cortez. There African Americans present. One was George and other was Marvin. There were three Asians. Chen, Wu and Han. An Australian by the name of Chris.

The first order I gave them when we landed was to turn off the radar. Cortez opposed. So I told him that these creatures are attracted to the sound. The sound is a homing beacon. It tells them where food is and they come running towards us. Turn it off and save their bullets. Aaron told him to do as he is told but he refused. So he looks around for a second opinion and Betty says, "She can sense trouble that is a mile away. If she says turn it off then turn it off." So he flipped the switch.

I sat on my seat and ask Chris which direction we were heading. He gave me the general location and I extended my senses. I told Marvin to turn the engine. He said he won't know if there is bump or other obstruction. I told him I will help him just do as he is told. So he started the engine. I would tell him to make a sudden turn and before we knew it we were at our destination. Chris was impressed that we had shaved off three hours that it usually takes to get there.

We were on top of a cliff that a had three hundred feet drop to a spiky bottom. At a distance was a bunker with an electric fence surrounded by zombies. They gave me binoculars but I gave it back saying I can see better without them. The men pulled equipment and started setting all sorts of stuff I have never seen. The only thing I recognized was a drone. I asked them why we are here. Chen replied, "The facility is a zombie making facility with all sorts experiments going on day in and day out. Specimens are dragged in weekly. Our job is to find out what new horrors it cooking so that we stop it" Wu said, "Since you are faster you are the one who is going in"

I waited for the right moment and went inside. I made myself invisible before I ran inside. I ran till I found the room where they were doing the experiment. It seems that I took a wrong turn and landed elsewhere. To Red Guards this was an enemy facility. But it turns out this facility was here on Abe's orders. They were creating a time machine. He was yelling at the scientist about their progress. He said that he is tired of barking orders and people doing their own thing. He wants to go to a time when I was not poisonous so he can bleed me and become Alpha. He said that he is tired of being nice to me and so are others. They want to be stronger and better. They want to rule permanently. I was shocked and pissed too. I stood up for him and he stabbed me in the back. The men said that his best engineer is working on it. He will let them know of their progress soon. Abe demanded a time frame and was told he had no definitive answer. Abe ended the call angrily.

I connected with the council and told them that I am officially on their side to dethrone Abe. They were pleased to hear that as they were getting suspicious of his actions. I hypnotized everyone to leave the building. I made them forget who they were and told them to fly back to Moonstone. I then set up the charges and blew up the complex. I then extended my senses and found the actual lab. I waited till the soldiers from the lab stepped out for specimen collection and hypnotized them to blow up the lab. And they did it. I just made sure that Betty and others didn't know that I took a wrong turn.

The others were deep discussion while the zombies ate the scientist who was making newest series of the walking nightmares and the place blew to smithereens. I saw that they were still setting up to go there. Betty laughed as she recalled how fast I am. The others packed their things and came with me. We arrived back in Excalibur and Abe summoned me because the council wanted to vote in favor of or against Abe.

I arrived and was escorted to the throne room where there was a lot of yelling. When I walked in everyone went quiet. The council called for an immediate vote. The others said we should talk about it first. I said I am ready to vote. The vote was split down the middle and I was the deciding vote. I voted against Abe. This was a shocked to those that was in favor of Abe. Abe was removed from authority before the council demanded an explanation for why I chose to be against Abe. I showed them the video of the conversation that Abe had with a scientist. I apologized for taking a wrong turn. Abe was furious as he was escorted to prisons. Oleg and the others were angry that there was going to be a war again. Some of my werewolves bodyguard are married to vampires. If this war starts they will be the first to die. The council members that favored Abe resigned and new ones took their place after I did a battering ram style invasion of their mind.

A new werewolf was chosen as emperor. Although the law says it is my turn. I chose a werewolf named Lincoln. He was a fair and honest wolf and I respect his choice. The council concured and he was made emperor. The whole of Tsar was informed of the threachery. People were pleased that things will be different. The first law enfored was that hybrids will be left in peace. There will be no form of enhancement. Those that wanted war were humanized and had their memory wiped and sent out of Tsar.
