I told Korra to go backstage to mess with the pipes and release steam into the room to create a smokescreen. When the smoke appears we all strike.

Korra went to her job and we got into position. While Mako would come on the stage from the right we would come from the left and keep the Equalists busy.

I feel my sleeve being pulled and I look back at Nya

"Are you sure about this? You know that after what we are going to do tonight I will need to go into hiding."

"Yes, I'm sure! But who said anything about hiding just yet. Because of the smoke, they will not see our bodies very well. If we are careful enough we can avoid needing you to disappear for now."

I hand her a mask and tell her to be careful while we wait for Korra to do her job and create the smokescreen we need.

The smoke appears and we got into action.

While Mako took Bolin off the stage Nya and I held back the angels that were with Amon. I knew them, I trained most of them, I fought beside them and now I was fighting against them. It felt weird, to be honest.

Three of them jumped on me at once. I dodge sideways catching one of their hands in mid-air and twisting it. The angel fell hard on the floor breaking his arm. I pick him back up and use him as a human shield against the other two. Seeing this they hesitate, giving me enough time to hit one in the head and throw the person I use as a human shield to the other. With two down I had one more to go. The last one didn't have time to even get up. I did a low kick knocking him out. This exchange took a couple of seconds and left the other angels running toward me bewildered and gave me enough time to escape.

We almost got out when a two-winged angel come in front of us, blocking our path. Korra and I were the only ones left behind and since Korra wasn't as good at fighting in close quarters I needed to step in. I lowered my stance and used chi blocking to immobilize him. When we finally got out we were out of breath.

'It was more intense than I thought, the fact that I didn't have my suit limited my possibilities to attack.'

While I was immersed in thought Korra came behind me and asked.

"Can we talk in private?"

"Yes, sure! HEY, GUYS GO RIGHT AHEAD I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL KORRA!"

They leave the two of us alone and Korra askes the question that was burning her since we left The Revelation.

"Do you know chi blocking?"

"Yes."

"Where did you learn chi blocking?"

"From the Equalists."

She took a defensive stance and asked me.

"Why did you help Mako?"

"Because he's my friend that's why! Korra I don't think you understand people aren't simply good and evil they have layers some more than others. At the end of the day what makes a person good and another evil is how they interact with the outside world. Now Korra by the things I did tonight do you think I'm an evil person?"

"I... don't know... I don't understand! You've trained with the Equalists why would you help a bender, why would you have a bender friend, why would you help me fight against your people?"

"It's ok, I'm here to tell you that I'm not especially a good or a bad person, I just am. Sometimes I help people sometimes I don't. You asked me why would I help a bender, why would I have bender friends, the answer is simple. People are more complex than good and evil, to say that all benders are evil is a lie, first and foremost benders are people and people can be both good and bad. Mako and Bolin are good people, my friends, why wouldn't I help them?

You asked me why I fight against my people. I ask you are they, my people? Why are they, my people, because I fight like them? By that logic why did Aang fight the Fire Lord?"

"That's not the same thing, the Fire Lord was evil and Aang was the good guy, he was trying to bring peace to the world, and the Fire Lord wanted to conquer the world."

"Korra you don't get it do you... Good and evil are concepts, you need a point of reference to say that something is good or something is evil. The Fire Lord was fighting to expand the empire in order to give his people better lives. I don't know if you learn this at the temple but during the 100 Year War, the fire nation citizens received an increase in their living conditions. They had better jobs, better food, better everything almost. From the point of view of his people, the Fire Lord of that time was a hero, from their point of view the avatar was the villain of the story."

"I think I see your point, but that doesn't explain why you helped me?"

"Korra, I think that Amon is right in some aspects, like the fact that non-benders need a bigger voice in whatever happens in this city, that they need to be respected just as much as benders and stoped being trampled on. At the same time, I don't agree with some of his philosophies, like the fact that all bending should perish. Bending has been a part of this world culture for millennia and I don't think eradicating it is the way to go. At the same time, I hate the lies that he's feeding the other, that benders are all evil, I can't stand that when some of my best friends are benders. In the end, all I want to say is that Korra I need you, we all need you now more than ever."
