I'm The Tower Ruler

One day out of nowhere huge towers appeared across the world. Well something like that happened. At least that's what I think. I do not know anything. I lived my life as a demon just fine, I was human actually, but it doesn't matter much. Someday I was just sitting on a throne. When I looked out of the place where I was, I saw... Cities? CITIES? Wait where are the kingdoms? the villages? Where the hell am I? "Lord" "huh?" "What is the plan for us to kill the humans?" "What?" What the hell is happening?

Great Disaster (1)

Psy, no, Pixy was tired for the first time in years.

Not because the new Lord was some kind of workaholic, but because after so many years of running this Tower.

She felt for the first time that she should push herself.

Pixy over so many years saw a lot of death.

So much so that every time she sets a trap she can imagine someone's dead body there.

Some traps don't even leave corpses behind.

This new Lord was the first to take a deep breath and hear what his Alter Ego has to say.

Reina now, who has a name, looks very happy, and as she hops around doing her job she must be working twice as hard if not more than Pixy.

The work of creating personalities for all those puppets seemed like hell in Pixy's eyes.

There was a lot to do, and a lot of manual work, each doll has to be done perfectly.

Her Lord said not to leave the Tower with too many traps, apart from the labyrinth, he probably wants to surprise the Humans, who might think that the Tower doesn't have much of a challenge to get too difficult at one time to another.

Pixy also felt for the first time fear.

She had never encountered a being with the title of Demon King before.

She heard rumors that they were excellent mages, but she didn't expect that.

This new Lord was beyond comprehension, not only in magic level but the almost infinite amount of mana he has.

When he coldly glared at Reina, his mana was released throughout the Tower.

Pixy felt that this was the last moment of her life.

The Mana was so thick and so charged with omniscience that she felt her breath stop the moment it enveloped her.

In the end, he wasn't threatening Reina, he was rebuilding the Tower.

Pixy stayed in that Tower, because of her Fairy ancestors, who delivered all of their existences to that place.

This Tower never had a good Lord until now, but that changed with this new Lord.

Not only did he listen to everything he had to hear, he asked about many things and even rebuilt the Tower.

For a second, a sad feeling of loss flitted through Pixy's heart, but she quickly shook it off.

All the Fairies who gave their lives for this place would be extremely satisfied if they saw how this place turned out.

Pixy looked out one of the new windows at the outside world.

Many worlds have already been attacked.

Many races have already gone extinct.

Pixy told her Lord that the Fairies who keep the balance on the side of good would not help the Humans.

But this may not be true.

She is no longer so sure.

If a Lord is as strong as he was summoned to this Tower, how are the other Towers doing around the world?

Humanity can't be extinct in 2 days?

Reina said that the tower's purpose is not complete annihilation, but just to kill humans.

Pixy just finished her work as she watched the peaceful lives of the humans down there who lived and laughed not knowing what would happen to them soon.

She was tired.

She used the new layout created by Lord to build traps across 49 floors.

He'd told her not to put in too many, so she'd taken pains to make them more awesome than ordinary traps.

Pixy released a weak sigh and let the wind wash over her face.

"Finished?" Reina's Voice sounded behind her.

Looking at Reina who looked pleased and proud and not tired at all, pixy felt betrayed.

Her face didn't show her feelings at all, but Reina seemed to see through everything when it came to her.

"My job wasn't that hard," Reina said scratching her head.

"This world is quite beautiful, isn't it?" She looked out the window Pixy was at.

Pixy only nodded her head in agreement.

"But..." Reina's look changed.

She was looking towards the horizon with tremendous love.

But when she glanced down and saw the buildings and the little race called humans, her eyes grew dark and there was disgust and hatred in her eyes.

"I don't know why that has to exist," Reina said sullenly.

Pixy just sighed listening to those words.

'Did you forget that our Lord said that he read that book when he was "Human"?'

"Our Lord is different," She said as if she read Pixy's thoughts.

"Why don't you find out?" A powerful voice sounded from behind them.

Looking back, there he was, a man with black hair, black horns, and red eyes that resembled blood.

Someone that looks pretty much identical to the current Reina.

This was the new Tower Ruler.

Her new Lord, Regarl.

He had a relaxed and calm look on his face.

He didn't appear to be feeling anything at the moment.

"Forgive me, My Lord, I didn't mean to" Reina tried to apologize for something when she was cut off by him again.

"You said 'I don't know why that has to exist', why don't you find out why?" He walked around to their side and looked out the window.

There wasn't even a hint of longing in his eyes.

Pixy thought that as an ex-human, he should feel some nostalgia for his race after seeing them again after years but...

The only thing in his eyes was a composed expression.

As if what he's looking at isn't even worthy of mention.

It was different from Reina's straight hatred.

It was a complete lack of interest.

"You're a Tower body, can you leave it?" He asked.

His eyes were still focused on the city beyond.

"I can, My Lord, but I don't think it is necessary"

"Even if you only have hate, there's no point in not understanding what you hate"

He took a deep breath.

"We don't need to understand a crazy person like that"

He looked directly at her.

"People who say that are the ones who always end up understanding that crazy person better"

He put his foot on the window and climbed into it.

"When I arrived in Hell, rather it started when I lived there, I also hated demonic beasts"

He sat by the window very calmly.

Pixy and Reina didn't notice, but they both followed him involuntarily and sat down beside him.

"I ended up studying them and trying to understand the reason behind my hate"

A tiny blue flame appeared in his hand.

"Do you know what I discovered?" He looked over at Reina again.

"No, My Lord"

The blue flames just vanished.

"Nothing" He turned and left the window.

Both were taken aback by the unexpected response.

"But you know, I haven't regretted it, I still hate them, but I understand them now"

He turned and looked at them both.

Unlike before, it seemed to be full of curiosity in its eyes.

But that curiosity almost instantly died.

"So, why don't you try to understand why you hate them? You won't regret it and you won't lose anything by it."

He turned around again.

"Finding out nothing about your senses and feelings ends up making you find out more about yourself than you think"

He began to walk away.

"Pixy, come with me" He called Pixy before he left.

Pixy looked for a second at Reina who was looking at Lord's back with fluttering eyes.

She looked like she had a lot on her mind.

Pixy obeyed her Lord's orders and followed him.

After some time walking, he opened his mouth calmly.

"I have some questions"

"Yes, My Lord" Pixy didn't notice, but she answered with a lot of respect and affection.

'Affection?' She wondered about it herself.

"What happens to the bodies in the Tower?"

Her lord asked a question.

"The majority should become monster food while a small part becomes mana for the Tower"

She replied calmly, but she felt a bit uneasy.

Lord's gaze seemed too blank for someone talking about such a subject.

Unlike the other Lords who felt Joy, Anger, or Disgust when mentioning death, he seemed not to care about such a subject.

Like it wasn't important.

"There are rare cases where the body is separated from the soul"

The Lord's gaze turned to her as she said that.

"But forgive me, My Lord, that subject who knows most would be Reina, I don't know much about such a subject" She lowered her head to him.

He continued to walk forward as if he didn't care about her action.

"Reincarnation... Transmigration.." Low and incomprehensible words came out of the mouth of her Lord.

After some time of walking their lord spoke again.

"Are you curious about humans as well?" He looked over at Pixy.

Pixy was ready to answer, but she felt something.

She was curious, but she nearly said no.

She felt that she shouldn't lie to him, she didn't know what answer he was looking for but...

"Yes, My Lord, I'm a bit curious about humans"

She honestly answered.

At that moment her Lord stopped and looked at her and behind her.

"You should go with her then" He pointed the way they'd just come.

After that, he just made his way toward the Throne room.

Pixy got a strange expression looking at her lord's back, but she quickly went back to where Reina was.

After walking for a while, she saw Reina standing by the window watching the Humans below.

She must have noticed Pixy when she started to speak.

"Hey, wanna play a prank with me?" Reina turned around and glared at Pixy.

"Prank?" Pixy frowned as she glanced at Reina.

She pointed towards the human city.

"I want to know, so I decided to go, do you want to come with me?"

It looked like an ordinary invitation, but to Pixy's eyes, Reina seemed to be begging her.

"Of course" Pixy lightly nodded her head, she had a small smile on her face.

"Besides, I want to get out of here, I feel like the Lord is watching us all the time" Reina didn't stop joking.

For some reason, Pixy did not agree with her joke.

Pixy found herself confused about this line of thought and feeling but quickly dismissed it.

She has followed Reina to the Human world.

It was already late, the sun was at the point of setting.

Reina and Pixy's appearances were automatically changed to blend in with humans.

Pixy looked startled by this quick change and looked at Reina.

"I learned as I watched Lord create those puppets"

Reina replied again as if she could read her mind.

"You still stand out a lot around here" Reina made that kind of joke but it was true.

A lot of Human eyes have fallen on Pixy since she appeared.

Not just because she was very pretty, but because her skin tone was a little different because she was a Fairy.

Pixy tried to ask with eyes towards Reina, but Reina answered before she could do such a thing.

"You are supermodel-looking in human taste, and your eyes are green"

Pixy nodded her head at Reina's observation.

Looking at Reina, she didn't change much, she didn't have any horns anymore, and her eyes were now black.

Her clothes which were demon dresses were now just ordinary human clothes, Pixy could see this kind of clothing just by looking around.

Pixy looked down at herself and saw herself in a businesswoman's outfit.

It was white, which made it stand out even more.

Reina stopped for a moment and looked at a public clock.

"There are exactly 24 hours left now"

18:00, 6:00 pm.

Tomorrow, at this time, the world would be thrown into chaos.

"Our Lord arrived this morning, we worked for almost 12 hours straight" A sincere laugh came out of Reina.

She saw a small spring and went towards it.

Pixy followed her in silence, she watched people walking, talking, living their lives.

People who stopped and looked at her looked away and went her way whenever their eyes met.

"Your eyes are always cruel you know that?" Reina commented something as she sat down on a part of the fountain.

Pixy stared at her in shock.

"Yes, Yes, you must have gotten on Lord's bad side because of those cruel eyes" Reina laughed as she looked at the people running away in fear from Pixy's gaze.

Pixy started to think well of her actions since the beginning of the day, if she did everything she did and acted the way she thinks she acted, besides saying the things she said with those cruel eyes, then...

"Don't be worried"

Reina said swinging her legs.

"I was just kidding, our Lord is different, I think he must have noticed something"

Reina looked more lively than usual.

"You know, our Lord, he is-"

Pixy couldn't take it and ended up cutting Reina on it.

"You wanted to get out of Lord's sight, only to be talking about him all the time? Didn't you just come out of curiosity?"

Pixy looked at her with a strange look and then watched the area around her for a while.

Reina simply sighed.

"Hey" She called out to Pixy but this time Pixy ignored her.

"I own a name now"

Reina observed Pixy's expression for a while.

"Pixy"

"Yes, Reina" She looked calmly at Reina.

Reina had a naughty look on her face.

Like something fun was going to happen.

"I said we were going to play a prank didn't I?"

Pixy glanced worriedly at Reina who mentioned some prank again.

"Just watch!"

Reina gathered mana in her throat and drew a lot of air into her lungs.

"Don't Tell Me"

Before Pixy could comment on anything.

A huge scream resounded throughout the human city.

A scream amplified by mana.

"The World Is Going To End!!!"
