Harold was confused about whether to forgive his mother or not. As she sat in front of him wiping her face, he looked at her intently, thinking of what next to say to her. His mother finished wiping her face and looked back at him.

"Do you forgive me?" she whispered.

"I don't know what to say. Can you please give me some time to think about it at least? I think I have a lot to think about," Harold answered.

"I know you will need time to think things over. It's a lot to take in," she said.

"Yes, it is. Well, I think we should call Denise back."

"Yeah."

Harold picked his phone from his pocket and dialed Denise's number.

"We are done. You can come join us."

Denise later came and joined them. "You guys are already done talking. I thought I was going to wait a little longer."

Mrs Sandy just laughed a little. "Well, I already cleared his doubts. So, I guess we did not have much to say to each other."

"Yeah. We did not have much to say. But, I am glad we actually talked."

"I want to give you my card so that you can call me, once you make a decision. Is it alright with you?"

Harold nodded. Mrs. Sandy then brought out a card from the small bag she was holding and gave it to Harold. Harold graciously took it and thanked her.

"I should be going now. I have a couple of businesses to take care of. But, do you promise to let me know as soon as you are done thinking about all these?" Mrs. Sandy asks Harold.

"Sure. I will call you." Harold smiles at her. That is the first time Harold smiled at her ever since they met.

"I should go then. So, I will see you both later. Enjoy your day," she gets up to leave.

Both Harold and Denise stood up as well. "Thank you so much, Denise. If it wasn't for you, I would not have had the chance to speak with my son. Thank you." She shakes hands with Denise.

"It's a pleasure, ma'am. I am glad you were both able to speak. At least I can say there is no more hate between you. Am I right, Harold?" she winks at him.

Harold just shakes his head and smiles a little. "We will see you later," he tells his mother.

Mrs. Sandy smiles at them both and leaves. Denise and Harold both sit down to have a chat.

"So, how did it go? Tell me everything." Denise asked him

Harold smiled again shook his head. "I don't think there is much to say. Anyway, I and my mother did talk. And we were able to settle our differences but I asked her to give me more time to think about this. About our past, our future, everything."

"Really? That's so cool," Denise squealed, making Harold wince. He quickly looked around to see if they had created any unwanted attention.

"Come on, Denise. Bring your voice down. And yes, I am considering forgiving her. Don't squeal," he warned her.

"Sorry, sorry. I am just so excited," she whispered while giggling.

Harold laughed. "So, I think I am going to give my mother a chance."

Denise wanted to squeal again. But quickly closed her mouth. "Did you hear what you just did?"

Harold was confused. "What are you talking about?"

"Your face. It perked up as soon as you called Mrs. Sandy your mother. This is the first time I have seen you speak about your mother without the hate in your eyes. I am glad you two finally met."

"It does? Well, maybe I have taken the hate I have for her from my heart. Shall we go now? It's getting late. And, you have work tomorrow."

"You are changing the subject, right? Anyways, you are right. Let's go then. I would not want mother to get worried."

Harold got up and held his hand towards Denise who took it. They both walked out and got inside the car, then, drove off.

Mrs. Wilson was in the living room, drinking her tea when Denise walked in.

"Hello, dear. How was your day?" her mother asked her. Denise sat beside her mother on the chair.

"It was great, mother. In fact, Harold and his mother talked. Mother, they talked for the first time in forever."

"Wait, tell me. I don't get it. How did they meet? I thought you said he told you he doesn't want to have anything to do with the woman. So, how were they able to finally meet and talk? Don't tell me you had something to do with it?" Mrs. Wilson looked at her suspiciously.

"Of course I had something to do with it, mother. I did not want him to continue hating his mother. The woman has suffered just as he has. I wanted them to come together as mother and son so that they could both bury the past in their lives together and finally be happy." Denise admitted.

She pushed towards her mother and placed her head on her lap. "So, how did it go?"

"It was perfect, mother. Harold and his mother both talked and resolved their issues. But, Harold asked for more time to finally forgive her. But at least, they did not end up killing each other, right? I just can't wait to see Harold finally forgiving her. That will make Mrs. Sandy so happy. And make Harold finally have some peace of mind."

"I am proud of you, my darling. You did well. I am sure mother and son will reconcile and have a good relationship. That's very thoughtful of you, my princess."

"Thank you, mother." Denise smiled.

She was happy she was able to get both mother and son together. Harold had always wanted to see her happy. So, she felt it was her turn to do the same for him. When he smiled at her today, she felt like her whole world was at peace. She felt happy. And that was a feeling she was not ready to let go of.
