When Audra's mum dies, she goes back home, even knowing she would finally have to face his first love, Chris – who’s also his foster brother. After what appears to have been a pretty painful breakup, they’ve been avoiding each other over the past 11 years. But will the pain of the loss bring them back together? Or would the bad memories be too much? The journey from here only gets more eventful, when her mum leaves a surprise condition on her will that would turn Audra’s life around.
*Audra's POV, Past*
The conversation with my mother went much better than most can expect from a mom at our age. My mom wasn't crazy protective and, if I dare to say, she almost looked happy about us being together.
I've heard from parents not wanting to accept their kids' relationships, embarrassing moments and million other stories. I was glad my mom had a more modern approach and, more than anything, that she trusted us to be our own people.
I knew our situation wasn't like others, and that made it a special case, but also my mother knew Chris closely and she had come to love him as her own son.
Her advice made a lot of sense and her few new rules - that honestly was more like some extra advice - made sense and were things I would probably keep in mind as simple common sense.
And well, an obvious one: we would not be sharing a room, at least not for now (those were exactly my mother's words).
