"It's better like this, before we hate each other.""I don't want to see you cry because of me any longer."Jennifer feels someone tap her shoulder, "Girl are you drunk? let me just tell my Haru not to come pick me up so we can go together."she looks up at her friend scoffing as she struggled to keep her eyes open, "Go, Go to your man sweetie, don't worry about little old me, I'm good." "Taesan will be here in 10 minutes, are you sure it's okay if I just go like this? You were talking to yourself just a few seconds ago."Jennifer laughs waving her friend off, "It's okay don't worry, I was just saying nonsense okay?"Yoona sighs pushing back her hair deep in thought. "Haru is here...are you sure it's okay?""Isn't Taesan coming for me?""He is.""So bye bitch, go to your man, thank you for celebrating with me baby."Yoona walks over to her drunk friend kissing her forehead, "Stay put, he will be here and take you home.""Okay, I'll wait for little Taesan.""Will you promise to not talk to strangers?""Yeah..."Yoona frowns but backs away slowly. "Jennifer, he'll be here okay."Jennifer nods waving goodbye as she watched Yoona ran to go meet Haru, her boyfriend of six months, they were inseparable at this point. She sees Yoona running into Haru's arms and he twirls her in the air."Those two literally saw each other a few hours ago." she shakes her head, "Couples are so annoying."she rest her head on the table feeling tired. "I don't need romance, I am about to be in my working girl era, screw love."As she mumbles on she slowly slips into a deep sleep.================================================================================Taesan enters the bar looking around for his sister and her friend Jennifer, he was tired from a long day of classes but whenever his sister called for help he would drop everything for her to come help her out. He knew it was dangerous for women and wanted to do anything he could to keep his older sister safe.Frowning with concern, Taesan pulled out his phone and checked for any missed calls or messages. There was a text from Yoona – his heart sank as he read the words."Hey Taesannie, sorry, but my boyfriend unexpectedly showed up and offered to drive me home. Take care of Jennifer for me, okay? She had a bit too much to drink. Thanks, baby bro!"Taesan sighed heavily, feeling a mix of frustration and worry wash over him. He couldn't believe Yoona had left Jennifer alone, especially in her current state. With a sense of determination, he set out to find her.Weaving through the crowded bar, Taesan's eyes scanned the room, searching for any sign of Jennifer's familiar figure. And then, he spotted her – a lone figure slumped over at a table in the far corner, her head resting on her arms her dark hair covering her face.Taesan approached gingerly, not wanting to startle her. With gentle care, he knelt down and nudged her shoulder, trying to rouse her from her slumber."Hey there, you awake?"Jennifer groaned again, slowly lifting her head and peeking through blurry eyes. For a moment, her vision seemed foggy, unable to focus on the figure bending down before her. "Taehyun-ah?"Taesan chuckled softly, noticing her hazy state."I hope this Taehyun fellow is handsome but I'm not Taehyun," he teased."I'm your rescuer - Taesan."He grinned and offered her a hand to help her with her way up."My sister Yoona sent me because she's with Haru and asked me to take you home."He looked her over, his eyes narrowing when noticing her drowsy behavior.She sits up trying to focus on the face before her. "Taesan."Taesan tilted his head, sensing something was amiss with her attitude."Are you alright?" he asked gently.Her drowsy behavior was concerning him - maybe she had had too much to drink?He raised his eyebrows, wondering if she had blacked out and that's why she had been so disoriented.She scratched her head seeing the look on his face made her laugh."No, I'm just super drunk."Taesan laughed with her, not judging her for her tipsy state."Well, that explains your confusion," he smiled warmly.He reached for her arm, helping her to stand."Are you able to walk on your own or I should carry you?" he said, offering her two choices.She looks at him amused, "You'd do that?"Taesan chuckled, noticing her surprised reaction to his offer."Well, yes, if you need me to - I'm strong enough to carry you safely."Taesan was in good shape, so he could lift her and take her home without any issues. He was used to carrying people on his back to safety during his volunteer rescue work back in his hometown.She smiles placing her hand on his cheek, "I guess the high school kid with braces I met is really gone." She could still recall the day Yoona made her go home with her to Busan to celebrate Chuseok with her family. She thought the 14 year old kid was adorable and shy. She had been so nervous meeting her family as she knew the older generations had a negative view of people f color but she was welcomed with open arms and they took good of her.Taesan blushed, amused by her memory."It's been a few years, hasn't it?" he said, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia."I'm not that shy kid anymore either," he said with a chuckle, brushing the back of his hand against hers."Not shy at all, you're a model now." she says fondly, "I am so proud of you."Taesan smiled, flattered by her compliment."Thanks," he said, "You were always the pretty one though-"Taesan remembered the way she was always kind to him he had a huge crush on her back in the day."I'm surprised you don't have a boyfriend. You're so pretty..."She blushed, this was the first time in a long time she heard a guy call her beautiful and she felt that he really meant it. She however didn't know what to say or how to react to his words.Taesan noticed her blush, his eyes narrowing with curiosity."I'm being honest," he said, his tone gentle and sincere, "I had a huge crush on you during high school, you didn't notice it cause I hid it so well. "He chuckled self-deprecatingly, his cheeks heating up."I never had a chance with you though..."Her breath hitched as she looked into the younger man's eyes, this was bad because although she had never seem him in a romantic way his words made her feel so flustered. Jennifer leans down placing her lips on his.Taesan's breath caught. Her soft lips on his sent shivers down his spine and his heart was racing. It was unexpected But her lips... felt perfect against his. He slowly wrapped his arms around her waist to make sure she remained balanced as their kiss lasted a few seconds more before he leaned back, breathing heavily.
