Am...I...Losing?

The world's different layers peeled off in front of his eyes. The walls faded into silver. Everyone around him became black humanoid masses. Except for Frankenstein, who still showed up as flaming purple. He didn't open his eyes to see through Frankenstein as last time. Now he just wanted to know what trick or sorcery was being played before his eyes.

To Frankenstein, his eyes still rained the deepest shade of black in existence. The Heaven Shrouding Eyes lived up to its name on a conceptual level. No being that existed under the Heavenly Dao had the qualifications to see it in action, let alone know what they were. When he first unlocked his eyes during the Bloodline Awakening Stage in the Qi Condensation Realm, a Heavenly Decree rumbled in his ears informing him of his ability.

Certain types of knowledge, ranging from what he needed to know to use it and upgrade it filled his mind. It had four major levels. The first level which he was in was known as the Eyes of Origin Stage. It gave him a few abilities, and among them was seeing any being regardless of their cultivation stage's life force. Seeing Qi pathways was another ability that was meant to work on all creatures, yet it struck him odd that Frankenstein remained a total mystery to his eyes. Was he the beings the decree spoke of? Is someone not under the Heavens? But if it were so then what was he under?

The wounds caused by the sudden strike of Frankenstein's blades sealed themselves. Long Wei unlocked his aura, bringing it all the way back to the Saint Realm. His senses reached a whole new level. He retracted the Heavenly Door Rea aura he gushed out a few seconds earlier and locked everything up within him. To a normal cultivator, he would seem no different to a mortal, but those that understood Long Wei would realize the unbearable calmness wading out of his retract Saint Realm Aura.

His facial expression froze. And the rage that ignited within him earlier exploded. He cracked his neck and knuckles, finally feeling free in his current state. He wanted to test himself and see if he could complete these trials without using his Saint Realm Strength. And he realized that was possible. Not because he couldn't do it, but if it meant getting injured by lower lifeforms. He wanted none of that.

Elder Cai's words slipped into his mind. Elder Cai once warned him that he should use his full strength when battling an ant or a lion. Not doing so was a mistake he was going to regret sometime in the future. And at this moment he wasn't going to hold back until he saw the ugly smile wiped off the purple-skinned man.

Golden dragon claws wrapped around his fingers.

A sudden burst of bloodline aura blew apart the remains of the cavern system. All the flesh caverns and floors turned to waste under Long Wei's Void-Dragon Aura. Wisps of purple qi lingered in the atmosphere. And at full strength, all the harmful qi in the area was wiped out.

Frankenstein shielded himself from the burst. The strength of it pushed him a dozen meters back. The smile on his face didn't stop. The rage built up in Long Wei was simply giving him more strength. If he kept it going, he didn't think the Crown Prince had a chance of winning this battle.

The current situation awed Frankenstein. His employer came to him more than five thousand years ago, asking him to infiltrate the Spectral Haven Sect Trial Grounds, this particular one in fact. He was supposed to meet the current Crown Prince of the Imperial Haven Expanse, a talent that was destined to shake the very foundations of existence and non-existence itself should he be allowed to grow.

His employer didn't want that. So he somehow divined the future, which was Frankenstein's only logical conclusion after seeing Long Wei enter the trap that was set more than a thousand years ago. His description perfectly matched the one he was meant to kill. But now, his thoughts were going elsewhere.

His thoughts were shifting the more he saw the Prince in action. From the moment the Prince entered these trials, he was watching. Each and every one of his moves made certain that everything was going according to plan. As he did, the drive to kill him and complete his part of the contract suddenly left him.

One of his own planned on ending him, but the power he saw hidden deep within the Prince told him that his kind could use the Prince to their advantage. The contract be damned. A talent of such great proportions. Yet someone wanted to kill him before he spread his wings? He never got to understand that kind of logic.

Long Wei gathered void qi in his hand. A black sword formed between his enclosed fingers. For the first time in his life, he felt pain. Not self-inflicted, but one inflicted by another. Not even his father, the Emperor of an entire Expanse dared to do such a thing. Who was this Frankenstein to be the first?

He swept with his sword. Dazzling purple phenomena sprouted in the heavens. The image of a dragon, covered in golden scales projected from behind him. It leapt fomnhis back. And with a flap of its wing, it soared through the skies engulfing the purple phenomena with a single gulp. Instantly after that, a burst of powerful purple energy shot out of his sword. Carried by wave after wave of power brought by the phenomena it slammed against Frankenstein.

To his senses, although Long Wei's sword slash was fast. It wasn't fast enough for him. He crossed his arms and shielded his face. The energy struck against his forearm. The force tossed him back like a leaf blown by the wind. Just as he tumbled into the ground, he corrected his posture mid-air and landed perfectly on his feet. Smoke billowed from his ables and a frown formed on his lips.

"My turn," he whispered.

Within Frankenstein's field of vision, a red aura spiraled around him. A negative feeling pulsed from it. And rage was the most prominent. Frankenstein was only an avatar, one created by Violet an Ancient God Realm Expert. His powers weren't as developed, but they far surpassed the limits imposed upon the laws of the trial world. Most of all, he could tap into the tapestry of Aspects Violet practiced. Aspects were part of the building blocks that fueled the Heavenly Dao. It was part of a far broader and larger Concept. Might was an Aspect of Strength, and Rage was an Aspect of Emotions.

The Aspect, Violet created him to embody was Rage.

He pulled on the aura around Long Wei and fashioned twelve blades with his mind. And with a single thought, the blades materialized, sinking right into Long Wei's body.

Twelve blades slipped into his body. Unimaginable pain tore through Long Wei's body. He fell onto one knee, a hand clutching his chest and tears threatening to spill onto the floor. He slammed his sword into the ground to support him. The anger in him didn't stop rising. Why was it all happening? Where were the attacks coming from? Why couldn't he sense them?

"Just calm down now. Its not like I'm kicking your ass without even trying. How does it feel to be powerless in front of me?"

"Get that smirk right off your face," Long Wei bore the pain and cleared meters of distance in an instant.

He reached with a clawed hand, clasping around Frankentsteins head. A smooth hand smacked away his claws, and slid down his wrists, clasping his elbow. Force transferred from the man's hand right into him. His feet planted to the ground, lifted. Next thing. He saw his body soar through the air. Just as he thought He had enough time to correct his course, Frankenstein's smile appeared in front of him. Frankenstein threw a hand around his throat, pulled up, and slammed down. For a second air lost its direction to his lungs and he gasped. Shock waved through him to the sudden thunderous clap pg his body slamming into the ground.

Even with his Saint Realm cultivation, he somehow couldn't keep up with the man. What was going on?

A fist blotted the moon and skies above him. He rolled to the side.

Boom!

The ground next to him crumpled under the strength of the blow. He gathered Qi and propelled himself to the side, narrowly dodging another strike.

"You are pitifully weak for the Crown Prince. How do you survive?"

Frankenstein's annoying voice spilled into his ears. He drove a clawed fist into the ground and stood up. He analyzed what was happening the moment he met Frankenstein. There had to be a reason why he was getting his ass handed to him on a silver platter, in a world where everyone's cultivation was limited to the peak of the Mortal Realm. His battle strength the last time he tested was just above the Human Immortal Realm. What was different?

Frankenstein!

Just seeing his purple skin enraged him.

Rage…Rage…Rage! Rage! Anger!

How's it going? Enjoying What I have offered so far?
