On this day, Yuga strolled through the Ecopark, intending to select a few Pokémon for the Paradise Hotel and entrust them to Strawberry for training.
After some contemplation, Yuga decided to choose six Bellossom and brought them out of the Ecopark.
These six Bellossom were part of the group that Ryuichi had originally sent to Yuga. They had been living on the No. 2 island of Heart Lake Island in the Shallow Seashore Sub-Ecopark.
Among this group of Pokémon, there were very few with high potential, and most of them had yellow potentials, including the six Bellossom Yuga selected.
However, despite their modest potentials, the Bellossom were beautiful in appearance and had gentle personalities, making them suitable for working as attendants in the Paradise Hotel.
Initially, Yuga had thought of choosing Gardevoir for the role of Pokémon attendants, but there weren't many Gardevoir in the Ecopark, and it was impossible to spare any for the Hotel.
However, Bellossom was a good choice, especially since there were quite a few of them in the Ecopark.
As Yuga led the six Bellossom out, he happened to see Gardevoir instructing some Psychic-type Pokémon in the main Ecopark. He greeted Gardevoir with a smile.
However, Gardevoir just gave him a sidelong glance and remained silent, his cold gaze immediately making Yuga realize that this wasn't Gardevoir but rather Gardevoir (male).
Yuga's eyes flickered as he smiled and said to Gardevoir (male), "Calling both of you by the same name every time isn't convenient. How about I give each of you a name?"
Gardevoir (male) was momentarily stunned upon hearing this proposal, and his actions paused. He turned to look at Yuga with a fixed gaze.
In his understanding, only the most intimate partners would give each other names. However, his relationship with this man across from him was not only lacking in intimacy but also somewhat contradictory.
At this point, he couldn't muster any hatred towards Yuga, who provided him with food and shelter. He couldn't even bring himself to dislike Yuga. Sometimes, he couldn't help but think that if he had met Yuga first instead of Butler, he would have liked this Trainer very much.
Although Butler was his Trainer, Gardevoir (male) had to admit that Butler's character wasn't as good as Yuga's. Even with his emotional bias, he couldn't refute the fact that Butler had behaved poorly.
Originally, Butler was a scientist for Team Magma, and after obtaining fragments of Groudon's body, he sought to resurrect Groudon through technology. However, his experiments failed, leading to his expulsion from Team Magma.
In his pursuit of Groudon's revival, Butler had almost descended into madness.
He had once been friendly to the Pokémon in his care, but due to his insane experiments, they received increasingly less attention, and their status in his heart dwindled.
Whether it was Salamence or Gardevoir (male), both had long realized that Butler was no longer the Butler he used to be. They stubbornly refused to acknowledge this.
Compared to a life of upheaval alongside Butler, Gardevoir (male) preferred his current life with Yuga—peaceful and harmonious.
Thinking this over, Gardevoir (male) responded to Yuga's proposal with an unexpected "Sure."
Upon hearing Gardevoir (male)'s voice, Yuga was slightly taken aback. He had only mentioned it casually and didn't expect Gardevoir (male) to agree.
Gardevoir's voice sounded too young and didn't match this mature body; Gardevoir (Male)'s voice, on the other hand, was too masculine and didn't suit this beautiful form.
At least, that's how Yuga saw it.
"Do you really want me to give you names?" Yuga asked Gardevoir (Male) in surprise.
"W-what? Is it...is it not okay?" Despite feeling somewhat embarrassed, Gardevoir (Male) had already spoken, and there was no taking back his words. He replied nervously.
Yuga chuckled, "Well then, I'll think of a name for you seriously."
Watching Yuga concentrate on coming up with a name, Gardevoir (Male)'s feelings were complex. It hadn't crossed his mind that his formal Trainer would forget to give him a name but would now have an "enemy" assign one.
"If you don't want one, I'll just call you ShaSha."
Yuga suddenly lifted his head, excitedly proposing the name as though he had thought of something extraordinary.
Upon hearing "ShaSha," Gardevoir (Male) almost couldn't hold back a reaction, and his facial expression almost gave him away.
Gardevoir (Male): Did you really spend all that time thinking only to come up with this name? Did I jump the gun with my complex thoughts earlier?
"So, do you think this name works?" Yuga asked again when Gardevoir (Male) didn't respond.
"If you think it's fine...then it's fine." Gardevoir (Male) couldn't bring himself to refuse.
"Great, I'll call you ShaSha from now on."
Yuga didn't seem to think there was any issue with the name he had chosen.
"Now, what about the other one? What name do you plan to give it?"
Gardevoir (Male) – no, he should be called ShaSha now – asked Yuga.
"Right, right. What name you would give me?"
As soon as ShaSha's finished speaking, Gardevoir's voice resounded, and the facial expression of the Gardevoir in front of Yuga suddenly became vivid.
Yuga could tell that the one currently in control of the body was Gardevoir, not ShaSha. ShaSha couldn't produce such expressive facial expressions.
Yuga said, "ShaSha is ShaSha, so you'll naturally be called Nana."
"Nana! Nana! That's a really nice name!" Gardevoir repeated "Nana" a couple of times in his mouth, thinking that the name sounded lovely and suited him perfectly. He didn't realize that their names, ShaSha and Nana, were derived from their species' names.
(Note : Gardevoir chinese name is Shānàiduǒ)
"From now on, I'll be Nana."
Gardevoir, no, he should be called Nana now, jumped up in excitement.
And that's how it went. Yuga casually assigned names to Gardevoir (Male) and Gardevoir, now known as ShaSha and Nana, respectively.
