Originally, Yuga thought that after Phoebe, finished treating her injuries, she would first go to see Bridges. However, to his surprise, the first person she sought out was Yuga himself.
In the reception room of the Verdanturf Gym,
Phoebe gazed at the young man sitting across from her with mixed emotions. The first time they had met, she had seen him as a junior trainer. The most recent encounter had her appearing as the Elite Four of the Pokémon League. But now, she found herself in front of him with her most embarassed state, and owing him a life-debt.
Having seen Yuga's true strength, Phoebe could no longer view him as a junior trainer.
After the destruction of the Team Aqua Branch, there had been much speculation about Yuga's strength in the outside world. However, most people remained skeptical about whether he truly possessed Elite level abilities.
Now, Phoebe had witnessed it firsthand. Regardless of whether that Champion level Dragonite was Yuga's Pokémon, there was no denying the power his Lapras wielded. Moreover, his Gengar and Mismagius had broken through to new heights.
Phoebe scrutinized Yuga, and then she asked, "Why has Ms. Phoebe, come to see me?"
Phoebe, after a brief moment of introspection, hesitated and replied, "I have some matters I'd like to discuss with you."
"What kind of matters?" Yuga asked in surprise, wondering why she would seek him out instead of Bridges.
"Have you ever heard of Ghost World Envoys?" Phoebe asked after some thought.
Upon hearing those four words, Yuga looked at Phoebe with astonishment. So, she knew about Ghost World Envoys. It all made sense now. Her special abilities and deep knowledge of Ghost-type Pokémon aligned with what he had learned about Ghost World Envoys.
Acellola had said to Yuga that there are countless Envoys from the Ghost World, and there will be at least one on each region. The purpose is to balance the Material World and the Ghost World.
But Yujia didn't expect that Phoebe, one of the famous Elite Four, was also a Ghost World Envoy.
Compared to Acerola, this Phoebe is obviously stronger.
Ghost World Envoys are similar to a different kind of reincarnation. It is normal for them to have such strong strength at such a young age.
"Your expression confirms that you're familiar with Ghost World Envoys," Phoebe stated with certainty. She had her answers now.
When Yuga's Shadow Realm was sealed by Marshadow, there had been no sign of any residual energy escaping. However, when the emerald energy broke the seal, the power of the Ghost World Origin Stone had naturally diffused.
Others might not recognize it, but as a Ghost World Envoy, Phoebe couldn't remain ignorant. She had come to confirm her suspicions.
As far as she knew, she was the only Ghost World Envoy on the Hoenn region. So, how did Yuga fit into this equation?
"You're a Ghost World Envoy?" Yuga inquired, his tone carrying a sense of certainty despite the question.
Phoebe nodded in agreement, admitting it straightforwardly. While this was a secretive matter, there was no need to hide it from someone who was clearly connected to the Ghost World.
"I want to know about your Gengar and Mismagius, and how you came to know about Ghost World Envoys," Phoebe asked, her tone serious.
Those two Pokémon were undoubtedly connected to the Ghost World. Phoebe couldn't afford to overlook this, especially considering that knowledge of Ghost World Envoys had always remained hidden.
"Since you're a Ghost World Envoys you should also know about Acelora and Cecilia," After thinking about it, Yuga decided to tell the truth. Cecilia is dead, and those things should not let passed, but the matter about the Ghost World Origin Stone must be kept secret.
"Do you know them?" Phoebe asked in surprise.
There are very few Ghost World Envoys, so it was natural for Phoebe to recognize her colleague, Acerola.
As for Cecilia, that was a different story.
Cecilia's betrayal was the most sensational event to occur in the Ghost World in the past few centuries.
For all specters in the Ghost World, being chosen as a Ghost World Envoy was the highest honor. Yet, Cecilia had chosen to defect, a decision that was difficult for them to comprehend.
"It's Acerola who informed me about Cecilia when she was pursuing her. Gengar and Mismagius were originally Cecilia's Pokémon, and after her death, they were entrusted to me."
In the Ghost World, it was widely believed that Cecilia had perished at the hands of the Ghost World consciousness. However, they remained unaware that Cecilia had escaped the Ghost World by taking on the identity of Muya.
Of course, Muya wasn't entirely Cecilia; her soul mostly inhabited the kind-hearted Dusknoir.
To conceal Muya's existence, Yuga had claimed that Gengar and Mismagius had left the Ghost World after Cecilia's death and sought him out.
As for why Cecilia had entrusted her Pokémon to him, Yuga explained that he had once saved her during her escape.
Yuga's reason for concealing Muya's existence was to prevent others from suspecting the presence of the Ghost World Origin Stone in him. This precious artifact held immense value, even if it was just a fragment.
Yuga speculated that the Ghost World consciousness might be aware of Muya's presence but, being aloof and lacking human-like thoughts, would likely not share this knowledge with other Ghost World entities.
However, it was always wise to be cautious.
After hearing Yuga's explanation, Phoebe nodded and said, "I see."
She wasn't entirely convinced by Yuga's words, but Cecilia was now deceased, and there was no point in pursuing the matter further.
"Regardless, I must thank you for saving me," Phoebe said sincerely.
"In truth, I didn't confront Bridges to save you," Yuga admitted. "I intervened because Gengar and Mismagius wanted to avenge Cecilia."
"Avenge Cecilia? What feud does Cecilia have with Bridges?" Phoebe asked in astonishment.
Yuga proceeded to explain Cecilia's connection to Bridges, the circumstances of Cecilia's mother's death, why Cecilia had defected from the Ghost World, and more, providing Phoebe with a detailed account.
Bridges was the former Pokémon League Elite Four who had made significant contributions to the League. Yuga didn't have the authority to execute him, but he could increase his crimes in the eyes of the law.
After hearing Yuga's narrative, Phoebe wore a horrified expression. "This... this is utterly depraved!"
It was unimaginable that Bridges had not only killed his own biological daughter but also used her flesh and blood to feed Ghost-type Pokémon. He had even killed his own wife to cover up this horrific secret.
All those years, he had presented himself as a loving family man, but his actions were truly heinous and unforgivable.
