A Family

— Lilith POV —

I groaned as I rolled over.

When Alexi and I got home there was no talking. It was as if we'd been starved of each other.

"Lili," Alexi said as he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me close. "Don't get up just yet."

"Alexi, we still need to talk," I said, not backing down and not letting my husband evade this conversation.

"Wouldn't you rather do other things," he hummed.

"No," I said, sitting up. "Alexi we need to talk about this and we need to talk about this now. I'm not going to allow you to delay this discussion any further."

"Fine." Alexi sat up and pulled me against his chest. "Okay, what do you want to do?"

I bit my lower lip, nervous to actually tell him what I wanted to do about Janet's child.

"I won't get mad," he told me. "I just want to know what you want to do and knowing you I already know what your plans are."

"I want to adopt the kid," I said without thinking.
