The news.

The news about Roselle was still the prominent news discussed in the whole city of Stardust. The news had spread on social media, people blasting the police for not being able to capture the criminal who had kidnapped Roselle and Nate.

The newspapers had so many captions about Roselle being kidnapped: ROSELLE STILL MISSING AFTER 24 HOURS OF BEEN KIDNAPPED.

POLICE UNABLE TO CAPTURE THE CRIMINALS WHO KIDNAPPED ROSELLE AND HER DRIVER NATE. etc

In GMB street, a motorbike pulled in front of a lamp pole. A man disembarked from the motorbike, looked around and went to the far end of the street where the newspapers were placed inside a large box for people who are interested to read the news to buy it at a cheap price.

"Your money?" A man poked his head out from the door of the small house where the box filled with newspapers was.

The motorbike man threw some notes at the old man and went back to where he had parked his bike.

It was 6:30 in the morning and the light from the lamb pole was disappearing a little as the morning light was illuminating the sky.

The man turned on his motorbike and zoomed down the street heading towards the A4 street.

Reaching a small building with a dim light that came out through the window of the house, he went to the door, paused, and looked around before pressing the doorbell.

The sound of the doorbell made a man sitting on a two-sitter sofa, having a cigarette in his mouth groan.

He made to stand, "Hold on sweet heart, someone is at the door." The man jerked his body out of the lady who protested and persisted for some minutes before finally letting go of him. She covered her bare body with a piece of clothing beside her and went into the room.

The man removed the cigarette from his mouth and went to the door. His muscle stiffened, angry at the intruder who was obstructing his morning pleasure in being with his woman.

"Who is there?" He asked sternly and opened a small hole in the door to see who the person was before he would open the door.

"Open the door Reld," The voice spoke from outside the room.

Reld jacked the door open.

"Hmm, old boy, how are you? It's been a while." Reld threw the cigarette on the floor and matched on it.

The motorbike man strode into the room. He dropped the newspaper he had bought on the table and removed his helmet. The room was filled with worn-out home appliances and it looked messy.

"Hah, boy! This one you have the newspaper with you, don't tell me you're gonna want the whole city in your palm. Stardust won't allow it, dude." Reld laughed mischievously at the man in front of him.

"Take the newspaper and read the news yourself." The man in front of him ordered.

Reld didn't expect Thomas to sound so cold this morning and he knew that whoever it was that offended him will pay dearly for it.

Thomas gave Reld a cold look, his heart skipped a bit. Despite him being the boss around here, he felt inferior in front of Thomas because of the man who is Thomas's boss.

"Can I have your cigarette?" Thomas demanded to ease the sudden tension in the room.

"Sure, man." Reld nodded and gave Thomas two cigarettes from the small box on the table. He picked a new one, lit it and held the match out for Thomas to light his.

Thomas leaned against the wall smoking. His cigarette slanting white across his red cheeks as he watched Reld read the newspaper.

Reld's eyes went through the headlines. POLICE UNABLE TO RESCUE ROSELLE AND HER DRIVER NATE; TWO POLICEMEN WERE SHOT IN THEIR LEGS AS THE CRIMINALS ESCAPED WITH THEIR HOSTAGES; THE ALLEGED KIDNAPPERS KILLED A NURSE BEFORE ESCAPING.

So many captions to read. Reld dived into reading the details of the first headline in his mind.

'Today been the 13th of April, the CEO of the company was still nowhere to be found. By the late hours of yesterday, it was discovered that Nate, the missing driver of Roselle was brought to the hospital located at No.12 BM Street in the city of Stardust.

According to the information gathered by the newsmen and the hospital workers who were interviewed, a woman had brought Nate to this hospital on the evening of the 11th of April.

This woman had claimed to be Nate's sister. According to the details she gave in the hospital, she claimed she had been back from work, only to see her brother on the foot of the staircase. She further stated that Nate who she had claimed to be her brother was suffering from an illness that makes him throw himself down whenever the illness attacks him.

She said she believed that her brother had fallen due to this illness.'

"That's not true!" Reld busted out loud, pointing gingerly at the newspaper, remembering the fight he had two days ago. His face was red as he remembered the sight of his woman sitting on Nate's lap. He could remember the face of Nate being the man he had struck in that bar for stealing his woman.

The woman who had gone inside the room re-entered the room again, a bottle of wine and three glasses in her hands. She walked seductively towards the table and placed the bottle of wine and the three glass cups on the table.

"Good morning Thomas, it's nice to see you here." The lady smiled at Thomas.

Thomas only nodded catching the anger in Reld's eyes.

"Lucy, get the f**ck back inside the room and find something to cover up your body," Reld ordered in a harsh tone.

"Come on honey, can't I be good at our visitor? I'm just giving him a treat that's all." Lucy said in a mockery tone.

"Woman!"

"Fine, you don't have to shout. I'm going out already." She smirked at her lover Reld and turned to leave. "Bye Thomas see you soon."

Thomas who had been silent had a vacant look on his face, his lips curved in a smile as he saw Lucy wink at him. He didn't miss the pleasure of staring at her body which Reld didn't miss seeing as he glared at Thomas, his eyes red with jealousy.
