Three Fates

The caretaker, Norman, watched behind the glass window as exhausted-looking students entered the dormitory. He then checked the time on his pocket watch. It was one minute before the clock struck 8 p.m.

He glanced at the name list with a frown. Several names were missing. He shook his head and wrote down that they were late. Then he locked the door.

He looked outside at the campus, which was slowly getting filled with darkness. His gaze lingered in the direction of the training hall. He knew that they were stuck there because of the test. However, he still had to punish them for being late.

Norman returned to his small office and leaned on his chair. Then he wrote on the paper the names of the students who were late. He would deliver the names to Headmaster Shaun tomorrow. It was his duty to decide the punishment, which wouldn't be too harsh since this was their first time.
