Chapter: A Battle Of Convictions

Zane scowled at Ares. He and Layla were being forced to stay at the hotel while their base was being attacked by the Anunnaki. Due to this, Zane had no choice but to question who's side Ares was really on. Why would Ares go so far as to stop them from returning to their base? Was he secretly working with the Anunnaki?

Nevertheless, Zane did not intend to let Ares and Chimera stop them from leaving the base. Even if it meant that he had to kill them to get them out of his way, Zane was willing to do it.

"Why are you going to such an extent to stop us, Ares? Are you plotting something with the Anunnaki?" Questioned Zane.

"As if I would ever work alongside the Anunnaki. I have no attachments to them whatsoever. I can assure you that," proclaimed Ares.

"Then why? Why are you stopping us from leaving? Could you at least tell us that much?" Asked Layla.
