Loki stepped out of the kitchen holding a bunch of food that was neatly packed in containers, by the end he'd gotten finger fries, puddings and a sweet lemonade to go along with everything.
Sipping on his lemonade, Loki walked along the corridors of the dungeon whistling softly to the tune of some catchy song from his past life as he stepped into the courtyard.
The sun was bright and the weather was calm leading Loki to conclude, 'Umu. It was good that I left the class, this weather isn't something one can miss.'
Jumping on his way to the lake, Loki found himself resting under a tree, making it an impromptu picnic spot where he finished his pudding while reading the book on Occlumency that he picked up in the library.
"Loki! What are you doing here!?" a snappy voice asked him as he was rudely pulled out of his reading zone.
"Huh? Who- Oh! Minoe!"
"Rude!"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Hermione sat down beside Loki and slammed her bag on his shoulder.
"Rude! You were very rude to Professor Quirrell!"
"He was being rude by wasting my time in the first place!" Loki argued back.
"Like I said, rude!" Hermione hit Loki again using her bag but Loki ignored her, in favour of grabbing a bit of his favourite jam pudding.
"Did you learn anything in the first place?" Loki asked her since she was being so angry about it.
"Yes! We learnt about how Hinkypunks lure travellers away from the paths around them."
"Seriously?"
"Well- Well he just read the book, but we did learn something!"
"Look Mione, I know you don't like to disrespect teachers, but that man, he doesn't deserve the position of a teacher, I don't even know how he was selected to be a part of the staff."
A soft silence lingered between them and Hermione huffed and sat down next to Loki. She stole a couple of pudding spoonfuls and chewed down on her food like a chipmunk.
"And you've been here for too long! Go away! I don't want people turning to attack you just to get at me!"
Hermione glared at Loki and then said, "I don't care! I'm not here for you. I'm here to look at the lake and it just so happens that I chose a spot next to you."
"*sigh* Mione look I know you're hard-headed about certain things but this is a risk you shouldn't take. What if those stuck-up nobles try and do something to your family? Wouldn't want that now, would we? So go. I'm sure you can hang out around me starting next year. Don't worry about it, I'll figure something out."
Hermione glared at Loki and then stood up with a huff, "I'm not doing this because you told me to! I'm just leaving because I no longer want to look at the lake."
"Hehe. Yes, yes I understand."
With Hermione leaving, Loki went back to reading his book and continued reading through to see how he could get started on learning Occlumency.
'Alright, let's try.'
'This book belongs to M.' were the first words written in exquisite handwriting in the book.
'Michael Jackson? No that's M.J.'
'At the request of my teachers, I am writing this book to help add to the valuable collection of books that the Hogwarts library has.'
'This will be my contribution to the wizarding world that works to combine both the Beyonder world and the Magical world.'
'This book is a translation of the knowledge and insights that I gained walking the spectator pathway for the last few decades of my life.'
'It has been a difficult pathway to walk upon after shifting to it so suddenly, but I guess this suits me the best.'
'Anyway, the explanations start from the next page.'
['The body of heart and mind is the second fragile shell around the spiritual body that encompasses all the conscious and subconscious thoughts, likes and dislikes of a person and their personality.'
'The theory behind a shield for the body of heart and mind is to draw runes on it using spirituality. This protects it while the runes are actively drawn on it.'
'The next step however is to then turn the active process of drawing runes into an image that can be pushed into the subconscious so that they always exist passively and protect the mind from harm without the person needing to be conscious.'
'The first step however is to come in contact with the body of heart and mind.'
'This might be easy for those on pathways that can interact with the mind, like the spectator pathway for example, and it would be harder for those paths that do not have any interaction with the body of heart and mind, like the Twilight Giant pathway.'
'The method to access the body of heart and mind is to use cogitation for an extended period of time to look at oneself, this accustoms your vision and opens you up to the possibility to see beyond just the spirit.']
'Huh. So I just have to enter cogitation?'
'Doesn't the Error Pathway interact with the thoughts of other people by usurping them? And didn't someone in the original story use an artefact made out of the Beyonder characteristics of the error pathway to steal knowledge from another person to learn an entirely new language?'
'So it should be easy for me to access the Body of Heart and Mind? Correct?'
'Let's give it a try.'
Loki closed his eyes, relaxed himself and entered cogitation.
But even after a few minutes when his glabella started to twitch and spasm, Loki had not succeeded.
'Damn! My head hurts!'
Loki clutched his head in pain and lay down on the grass for a few minutes.
After the pain passed, Loki looked at the black lake and thought of something, 'I have to set a sign to enter spirit vision anyway. Why don't I do it now?'
'Should I do it like Klein set it to tapping my glabella twice?'
'No, that always felt a little too overt for me.'
'How about rubbing my thumb with my index finger thrice in a circular fashion?'
Entering cogitation, Loki repeatedly hinted to himself that moving his index finger over his thumb in a clockwise fashion would activate his spirit vision.
After a while of repeated trial and error, Loki found himself easily able to enter his spirit vision just by rubbing his index finger on his thumb.
'This was easy.'
'Let's hope that it is just as easy to get in contact with my body of heart and mind.'
With one last glance at the lake, Loki stood up and walked back toward the castle, it was time for lunch after all and even though Loki had eaten already he was still a little hungry.
'People say the desert is stored in a different place in the stomach for a reason.'
