Chapter 257 : Ambrosius

In Hogwarts, Dumbledore's Office

Albus Dumbledore sat behind his desk, reviewing some ancient texts. The room was quiet, save for the occasional rustle of pages. His mind, usually focused and sharp, wandered to the recent problems with Grindelwald and that boy Orion. The boy had displayed remarkable magical prowess, far beyond his years, but his attitude regarding both the light fraction and the dark fraction was unclear, more than anything, he is strong enough that his opinion actually matters right now. Dumbledore leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing in thought. "Ambrosius," he murmured. Suddenly his mind stuck on the name. He repeated it again.

The name lingered in his mind, evoking something distant yet significant.

"Ambrosius... Merlin Ambrosius," he whispered, the connection finally striking him. He sat up straight, astonished.

"By the Merlin's Beard.

Could it be?

"How had I not seen it before?"

'One minute, not just me but also others. What the hell is going on.'

He quickly conjured a book and went searching or a particular existing line of wizard blood.

"Emrys...

No, this ain't it." Dumbledore frantically removed the book and conjured another.

This looks much more modern. It was infact not a magical book in the first place, but rather a muggle storybook.

The Arthurian Legends.

"Ambrosius"

"What in the world have I been thinking? How come I didn't see it? I need to do a blood test for that boy."

At Rose's Aunt's House

Rose was sitting in her recently upgraded room, which was in fact a storage room but still a really good upgrade from where she used to live before, flipping through a book on magical history. She had been thinking a lot about Orion, his extraordinary feats, and the way he seemed to carry himself with a wisdom beyond his years, and more than anything what the boy said about death and the end of the world coming.

Not sure whether to take that last part seriously or not, she was still suspicious that the boy might have pulled her and Daphne's leg.

Suddenly, a passage in the book caught her eye. It spoke of Merlin Ambrosius, the greatest wizard of all time. Her heart skipped a beat as she made the connection. "Ambrosius... Orion Ambrosius..." she whispered to herself, the realization dawning on her. She gasped.

"Merlin, tell me I am not the only one seeing this.

In Snape's Office

Severus Snape was meticulously brewing a potion, his mind focused on the intricate process. However, a nagging thought about Orion's action from last year was still in his mind.

Oh how much he wanted to mix some sort of hazardous potion into that boy's food, which he ate like he wasn't a human but a hippo.

With that humiliation he faced last year, he wanted to get back to the boy but he too knew that was petty of him.

After all, he was the one who started it, but that doesn't mean that he won't do it if he gets a chance.

He thinking this all suddenly paused, setting down his stirring rod, and leaned back, his dark eyes narrowing in thought. "Ambrosius," he muttered. The name echoed in his mind, pulling at a thread of ancient history.

"Merlin Ambrosius," he said aloud, the pieces falling into place. Snape's expression shifted from curiosity to shock. How could he, a master of Occulemency and history, have missed such a crucial detail? Orion's lineage... that boy.

This might be the first time Snape leaves his potion mid-way brewing and runs towards the Headmaster's office.

In Nurmengard, Grindelwald's Cell

Grindelwald paced his mansion, his mind always scheming and plotting, though this time around he was more focused on what his next move should be. He had long given up on his plan to subdue all muggles and make wizards the rulers, right now he was working on something else entirely. So planning was crucial.

And many of his plans were centred around one particular boy.

Orion D. Ambrosius.

"Ambrosius," he said to himself, pondering the name, suddenly his thinking was interrupted as something came to his mind. Something which disturbed his rhythm and confused his mind for a second.

He stopped dead in his tracks as the realization struck him. "Merlin Ambrosius," he whispered, a smile forming on his lips. The irony of it all amused him.

"Fair enough, how can a boy who the world itself has chosen to lead the future could be a nobody."

Grindelwald laughed, a hollow sound echoing in his cell. The magical world was full of surprises, indeed.

Across the Wizarding World

News spread rapidly, reaching witches and wizards in every corner of the globe. From the bustling streets of Diagon Alley to the remote magical enclaves hidden from Muggle's eyes, the name Ambrosius became the topic of hushed conversations and heated debates.

"Merlin? How did we not see this before?"

In the Ministry of Magic, officials paused their work, exchanging incredulous looks. "Ambrosius... could he really be a descendant of Merlin?" one of them mused aloud, the gravity of the connection dawning on them.

"I need you to connect with Mr Ambrosius and Dumbledore right now. This is the top priority for the time being. Also, make sure that the news is suppressed until no clear evidence is out.".

Dumbledore's Office

Back in his office, Dumbledore leaned back in his chair, lost in thought. The revelation about Orion's connection to Merlin opened new avenues of consideration. It explained the boy's extraordinary abilities and his innate wisdom. But it also raised new questions about his past, though nothing is for sure until he got tested but if what he is thinking is real then the wizarding world is for a storm.

Snape just left his office and told him the same thing and this was another thing which confused Dumbledore.

How come no one thought about this until now? It's understandable if it was just a name and the possibility of that happening is high even right now. It's totally possible for the boy to have no connection to Merlin.

But he remembered this was not the name given to him by the Muggles or his parents. This was the name written by the book of admission.

This book will never make this kind of mistake.

And again, how in the name of Merlin, no one noticed this, even not him. It was beyond him to understand.

"Maybe magic." Dumbledore's thoughts suddenly when they and his lips purse. Was something or someone using magic to suppress this?

"I have to meet the boy. Folks you too would like to meet Red right."

Somewhere Unknown, Nick and Hermione

In a dark, secluded room, Nick and Hermione were deep in discussion about their next steps.

The talks were not going well, Nick wanted to resurrect Voldemort and Hermione was against it.

But then suddenly while qualling they both stopped. Like both forget what they wanted to say next.

Nick suddenly stood up, "Hermione, we will talk about this later. I just remember something very important. I need to go to the muggle side for something. Don't wait for me." Nick said and before even a reply could come he just vanished from his place, apparating.

Hermione didn't even react to what Nick had to say or that he was gone, her eyes widened as she made the connection. "Ambrosius... that's."

Suddenly and strange expression spread across her face, and the grip she had on her wand tightened. "How could I have not seen this?"

And while all this was happening. Somewhere, suddenly a flash of light happened. This flast was followed by an explosion which destroyed that section of the forest.

A crater was formed but surprisingly. In the middle of that crater was a boy.

He weakly opens his eyes.

"Shit...I took more than I chew again"

"Merlin you there.

"..."

"MERLIN....
