Harry pov:

Harry was reading his book when he suddenly came face to face with beautiful golden blond hair and sparkling blue eyes of one Daphne Greengrass. Greengrass is standing in front of him with a straight face and her hands crossed, trying to be intimidating as much as an eleven-year-old can be.

Daphne Greengrass was the closest thing to a friend Harry had after the war. He wouldn't have been able to achieve half of the things he did in the previous timeline without Daphne's help and guidance. They both helped each other through a lot of things and Harry owes a lot to Greengrass.

"Potter, I would like to discuss some things with you in private." The blond girl confidently said.

Harry just looked at Greengrass for a while, the blond girl kept a straight face throughout but he could feel her resolve crumbling with every second. Just when she was about to leave in embarrassment Harry gave a short nod and got up from the couch.

It took a moment for Daphne to follow behind Harry and Oscar as they made their way towards his room like she was still having trouble believing that he actually agreed.

When they came to the entrance of his room which was just another dungeon wall to Greengrass but suddenly turned into a door, Harry used the invisible locket around his neck to give access to Greengrass just like he did before with Oscar.

While both of them can see the entrance now they still can't enter the chamber without Harry's permission. The blond girl tried to keep her straight face but Harry can still see her shock.

While the old Greengrass could have maintained an emotionless mask on her face even if the entire world crumbled around her, the Daphne in front of him is still young and inexperienced.

Harry invited them inside and closed the door behind him. Oscar made his way to his favourite chair in the room while Daphne is stunned upon seeing his extravagant room.

Harry let the girl look around as he sat on his couch, he waved his wand and a tray with a white teapot and cups floated on the table in front of him. This beautiful tea set is a gift from his grandmother, the teapot is enchanted so it stores both tea leaves and water and automatically brews the perfect tea whenever he wants, at just the right temperature and just how Harry prefers it.

Harry was never really into drinking tea but his grandmother grows her own magical tea plants, growing up drinking his grandmother's perfectly brewed teas has turned Harry into a person who can't go a few hours without a cup of tea. So before Harry left for school his grandmother gifted him this teapot which brews tea just like she does along with her personally grown tea leaves.

Greengrass finally got over his grand chamber after a while and came and sat in the leather chair in front of him. A cup filled with hot tea gently floated in front of each of them. Oscar easily took the cup and started drinking being used to these things now while Greengrass is still trying her best to seem nonchalant about the whole thing.

"So you wanted to talk" Harry said while adding milk to his tea trying to make her feel comfortable.

"Yes! I believe that we can come to an agreement that can be beneficial to both of us." Greengrass stated.

"While you have taken control of the house rather straightforwardly, there are still issues that you overlooked. Most importantly there are all types of factions in our house, all of them want to work with you but communication is clearly not your strong suit. I can take care of these issues for you by being your spokesperson." She continued.

"What are you talking about? I have no interest in ordering a bunch of kids around." Harry directly explained to Daphne while drinking his tea.

Greengrass had a shocked look on her face for a while before she finally spoke again "so what you did the first night was not some powerplay, you just wanted to help the werewolf?" To which Harry just nodded.

"Then why do you always sit next to the fireplace?"

"I just like sitting in front of the fireplace, why else would I sit there" Harry answered which once again shocked the girl for some reason.

Did Daphne think that everything he did was some sort of elaborate plan to take over the Slytherin House? How ridiculous! Why in bloody hell would Harry ever do something like that?

Harry enjoyed his tea while giving Greengrass time to get over her misunderstandings and get in terms with reality. After a few minutes, the girl eventually looked like she had things figured out.

"It doesn't matter even if you did it unintentionally but the fact is now you have power over our house and all of its resources. I can keep you in power in exchange for a few small favours like getting me access to the restricted section of the library" Daphne offered.

While Harry does not need to put a facade for anything but he knows Daphne is doing all of this in her efforts to save her dying sister. While Daphne might not remember him and their time together but he can still help her. Don't worry Greengrass he won't let Astoria won't die this time.

Harry nodded and accepted the deal. This way he can help Daphne and have a way to look after her at least during school. Maybe this time Harry and Daphne can actually be friends instead of being just allies.
