Chapter 104 - Quidditch.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Snape appeared in Friday's classes, finishing the exams while discussions about him and the Auror continued.

"You're telling me he was struck by an Auror... After everything he's done all year?!" Lucius Malfoy said to his peers.

"True... it's hard to believe after all that guy's done..." said the boy from the Rosier family, who had also had a feud with Snape since the beginning of the year but hadn't been able to do anything about it. He could only grit his teeth while watching him. At one point, he had given up, and even his peers sent a message to his mother.

She quickly sent a letter back, demanding to know why he had stayed silent about a half-blood humiliating him and the Rosier name. She even mentioned that she would take care of Snape once she figured out how he could leave the school on weekends with an agreement with the headmaster.

But in the end, she achieved nothing, Malfoy's father achieved nothing, and all the other families Snape had provoked simply couldn't do anything. This left them frustrated—if even the adults couldn't do anything, what more could they do when Snape had privileges none of them had and returned incredibly strong and arrogant, which made everyone start avoiding him.

Once, Lucinda was hurt when Death Eaters attacked her family's artifact shop. As she was someone who was always following Snape, she seemed like an easy target. However, when Snape found out that the girl had been taken to the hospital wing with some burns, something macabre happened: all the involved individuals were found with their legs broken.

They didn't see who did it, and not even the headmaster could figure it out, but everyone knew it was Snape. From that moment on, everyone started avoiding him, and no one wanted to talk about it, so only a small group in Slytherin knew the truth.

"Maybe he's not as strong as we thought..." someone suggested.

"But it was an Auror who did this! What can we do?" another murmured.

"Maybe we can't, but I'm sure the adults can."

"Yes... anyway, the Rosier family will be after him as soon as classes end, won't they?" Lucius asked, and the boy from the Rosier family nodded.

"Then we should..." another student began to speak, but was interrupted.

"Don't speak, Lucius' fiancée is here." He said as Narcissa entered the room, looking at them suspiciously before passing by and leaving the Slytherin common room.

"It seems your fiancée is getting very close to Snape..." someone teased.

"Shut up!" Lucius Malfoy growled. This was his last year, and soon he would graduate and start his adult life, including his marriage, which his father and the Black family had agreed upon. But he wasn't happy at all with Narcissa's behavior. She always seemed distant, not that he cared much about it; it was an arranged marriage, and as long as she fulfilled her role, it was fine.

However, the fact that she was so close to Snape, with some people even gossiping that they could be lovers—which he didn't believe—but it irritated and humiliated him. Snape seemed much closer to Andromeda, who blatantly flirted with him, even in front of the common room.

"Come on, Lucius, you won't be the first to sleep with her, at least she'll be experienced enough to teach you those things," another teased, and Lucius looked at him with fury, nearly casting a Cruciatus curse on him.

"Stop it. We need to unite and figure out how we can get rid of Snape," tried the seventh-year group to calm things down.

"But you know the Dark Lord might be interested in Snape, right?"

"Bellatrix could be useful, but she's become that half-blood's whore too!"

"What did you say?! Don't you dare speak so lowly of Bellatrix, or I'll attack you!"

"Bellatrix despises you, you idiot. She's clearly interested in Snape. You should stop being so foolish with that traitor."

"Go to hell, you wouldn't have the guts to repeat those same words in front of her."

"Calm down! But we can't deny that Bellatrix is behaving in a way that's far from suitable for a Black woman. I heard she's seeking training from Snape. I heard that the girl from Ravenclaw has gotten really good in duels thanks to that training. How can a damn half-blood be so strong?"

"He's just a half-blood! We need to finish him off; he won't make any difference. After all, he's provoked a lot of families!"

They continued this type of discussion, eventually agreeing to use their families and the resources they could provide to deal with Snape once and for all.

The week of exams finally came to an end, with the results set to come out next week. But there was one last event happening that Saturday: the Quidditch final, where the winning house would earn the most points towards the House Cup competition.

"Today's going to be a great day!" the Hufflepuff commentator shouted at that moment, as the entire stadium erupted with excitement.

The stands were packed, the atmosphere electric, with even people from outside the school present, especially the students' parents and sports enthusiasts who came every year to watch young talents from the last few classes about to graduate this year or the next.

The morning sun illuminated the Quidditch pitch as the Gryffindor and Slytherin teams soared through the air, their uniforms billowing.

"Let the game begin!" the commentator yelled as the referee, the flying instructor, blew the whistle, and in an instant, the wind was sliced by over a dozen broomsticks zooming through the air.

"Gryffindor starts with the Quaffle! There goes Marlene McKinnon, dodging Slytherin's Avery... what an amazing play! She passes to James Potter, who's in an excellent position!"

"Look at that! It's Gryffindor's star Seeker, James Potter!!! He's holding onto the Quaffle firmly while Slytherin's Seeker is searching for the Golden Snitch, which has finally been spotted flying across the pitch!!"

"Potter dodges a Bludger! He's heading for Slytherin's hoops... and... WHAT A SAVE BY MULCIBER!" the commentator exclaimed as Slytherin's Keeper blocked Potter's attempt.

As the crowd roared in the stands, Snape was there, watching the game next to Pandora. The other girls were with their families or among their house groups, but Snape wasn't even with Slytherin. Instead, he had been invited by Pandora to join the Ravenclaw stands. The Ravenclaw students frowned at Snape's presence, but it was still better than the glares he was getting from the Slytherin group alongside their parents. This way, Snape could avoid any confrontation.

It was his first time attending a Quidditch match this year. He had never been interested before, as he had no time for it, but he came to this one to see the sport with his own eyes.

His eyes quickly captured everything happening on the pitch. Snape had originally tried participating in the sport to impress Lily, but it ended in disaster, with him becoming the laughingstock of the Marauders and even some people from Slytherin.

But now things were different. Not that he had ridden a broom recently, but his eyes quickly followed all the balls the players were trying to catch from atop their brooms. With his skills, he could easily handle anything happening there, even the legendary Golden Snitch, which both Seekers from the two houses were chasing. To Snape, he could easily calculate the trajectory of that small winged ball, and if he had a broom, he was certain he could catch it before either of them.

"Are you thinking of trying out for the Quidditch team next year?" Pandora's voice asked beside him, not caring about the stares from her housemates.

"I... find that unlikely," Snape replied, not putting much thought into it or having any real reason to consider it.

"I'm sure you would stand out with ease, since many of the team members are graduating this year..." she commented.

"It wouldn't be difficult..." Snape was forced to mock, feeling a bit of agony watching how hard they struggled to catch the Golden Snitch.

"Lucius Malfoy scores another point!!" the commentator exclaimed, as the Slytherin team celebrated and returned to their positions, with the Slytherin section cheering.

"Hey, Black! Cover the right side!" someone shouted to Sirius in Gryffindor, as he nodded and glanced towards the Ravenclaw stands, seeing Snape there. Snape looked back at Sirius with cold eyes, suspecting he might try something.

In a moment, the game resumed, and Sirius grabbed his bat before hitting the Bludger, sending it towards Snape, making him a target as the ball shot forward at high speed.

"Black with an impressive hit! Wait, did he miss the side?! It's heading straight for Ravenclaw!!" the commentator noticed as the ball flew towards the stands, and the crowd quickly moved away from the area.

However, the impact they were expecting never came. Instead, the ball collided with a hand, spinning rapidly until it came to a stop, the person not even flinching. It was astonishing, as the ball was heavy and could easily break the arm of any student who tried to stop it like that.

"Someone caught it!! And it's... Severus Snape! Incredible, he caught the ball with his bare hand?! Is this guy even human?" Snape, who had hoped to just watch the game quietly without drawing attention, raised an eyebrow as his name was echoed across the stadium, all eyes now on him, still holding the ball effortlessly.

"Sirius Black, if you did that on purpose, you're out," the referee snapped, her tone angry.

"Wait, it was an accident... I didn't do it on purpose!" Black panicked, realizing that being thrown out in the final game could cost them the victory.

"You'll get a penalty, but one more stunt and you're out," she said, as he nodded with some regret, glaring at Snape with rage, his eyes glowing blue.

Pandora didn't even flinch, watching the ball in Snape's hand with admiration. "Amazing, you would certainly make an excellent player," she said.

Snape didn't care as the flying instructor, also the referee, approached him.

"Incredible...! Who is this...?" In another podium, Quidditch scouts watched in surprise, knowing how difficult it was to catch a Bludger like that. Seeing a student stop it with one hand was truly remarkable.

"Can you give the ball back?" the professor asked Snape, with everyone watching them.

"Can I return it to Black?" he asked, as the professor looked confused, Sirius much farther away, but Snape didn't wait for her response as he pulled his hand back, preparing to throw the ball.

In the next moment, with a burst of impact for everyone around, he hurled the ball with such force that the referee didn't even have time to see it pass by her.

"What?!" She twisted her neck in shock as the ball flew towards Black, who was unaware of Snape's words, only seeing the object speeding towards him. The next instant, it hit him with a loud thud, leaving him surprised and dazed, causing him to fall from his broom in free fall.

"What is this?!" the commentator shouted, equally stunned.

In the stands, the scouts stood up, not believing what they had just witnessed, while Snape no longer cared about drawing so much attention. He had done it as a response.

The entire stadium was shocked as Black was caught by the referee, her gaze shifting between him and an astonished look at Snape, wondering how that boy possessed such strength.
