CHAPTER 83

　　“I underestimated Lilith but not anymore.” Edmond said swerving through the left.

　　“What does the bracelet have to do with the darkness?” Lorene quizzed. She wasn't startled that she didn't know all these things because Edmond kept everything about the darkness a secret from them. The only thing they knew was that he bonded with it. Lorene noted that he had changed after he was locked away, he took things slow. It was four years since they returned and he was prepared to strategize his plans for Weston Hills. Something told her that he never wanted to make the same mistake he made twenty-three years ago.

　　“The bracelet is important. That's all. It is the only relic that could bind me with the darkness.” Edmond said waving her question off and getting her concentration back to the road he was threading on. Lorene heaved a sigh, as she fixed her eyes on the side mirror. Edmond glanced at her and then increased the speed before he turned on the radio.
