Separated

Beric awoke with a start, feeling the urge to relieve himself. He stumbled out of his sleep and made his way toward the bushes, a feeling of unease washing over him. As he relieved himself, his eyes were drawn to a strange lump nearby.

Curiosity got the better of him. Beric slowly approached the bush, his heart racing as he realized it was a corpse lying there. He gasped in horror at the sight before him, bile rising from his throat. The corpse was twisted in a grotesque position, its limbs bent at unnatural angles and its lifeless eyes staring blankly up at the sky.

"GUUYYYYYSSSS!!" Beric's sudden outburst shattered the tranquillity of the early morning. His footsteps pounded against the sand as he raced towards the campsite, his heart thumping in his chest. The others, startled by their sleep, put aside their bags and stumbled a few steps, rubbing their bleary eyes.

"What's going on?" Lue asked, her voice hoarse from sleep.
